Surprise, surprise, surprise (doing my best Gomer Pyle impersonation), Baldeli lets Duffey finish the game. Quickly SO's the side. Very impressive performance.
7-3 final.

Hill on the mound for Twins. Much better 1st inning than usual. 2 SO's and a pop up to short LF.

Twins get a run on a balk with Cave on 3rd. Cave bluffed a steal and the pitcher "quick pitched" but his back foot was off the rubber. The play is under review.
Run counts and Marwin who "SO" on that pitch , got a reprieve and eventually drew a BB but was left stranded.
1-0 Twins after 5.

Hill pulled after getting the 1st 2 out in the top of the 6th but issuing a BB. Allowed 2 hits and 3 BB's overall.
Was able to keep the Reds off balance despite not having much of a FB (anywhere from 82-86, top velocity 88) by locating his slow curve (71-75) fairly well.

Wisler gave up a run scoring gapper to RC for a double. Cave got a late jump, was a little indecisive and let it fall in instead of making a play on the ball. If Buxton was out there, he would have made the catch.
1-1.

Twins have something going with runners at 2nd and 3rd (Kepler BB and Arraez single) both advancing on yet another wild pitch by the Reds' starter. But Cruz SO's swinging at a thigh high slider on the outside corner. Just put the bat on the ball and go the opposite way!
Pitching change by the Reds.
On an 0-2 pitch, Rosario drilled a SAC fly to deep RF (the way it went off the bat, might have gone off the wall but for the wind blowing in) to drive in Kepler.
2-1 Twins after 6.

Wisler got the 1st out and then Baldeli went to the BP as the Reds were using their lefty P/H's. Didn't call for Thielbar but Clippard instead who promptly gave up a double midway up the RC wall, then a sharp single to RF so the Reds get the tying run. Slow base runner advanced to 2nd as Clippard didn't even look him back, has such a long delivery and didn't draw a throw.
2-2. May up in the BP will pitch the 8th.

May SO's the side. Either Romo or Rogers will likely get the 9th.
Twins need to get something going. They aren't playing with their usual energy. There's still a lot at stake. With a win and being the #2 seed, they would have home field advantage (with the best record in MLB) against everybody except TB.

Garver singles but instead of using a PR (with Jeffers available to C), Baldeli elects to let him stay in which could prove to be costly if anyone drives a gapper that a speedier runner could score on. Twins caught a break when Arraez grounded to the pitcher whose throw drew the SS off the bag. Unfortunately, Cruz grounded into an inning ending DP...trying to pull an outside pitch.

NOW Baldeli puts in Thielbar (lefty) a couple of innings too late.
Does his job retiring the side. Time for a walk off...pair of doubles.

Romo comes in with the automatic runner and gives up 2 hits, scoring 1 already, and runners still on the corners then walked the next hitter. Bases full. He's missing the plate with his slider and when he doss throws strikes the Reds have gotten hits... while Baldeli sits on his hands.

Only after Romo walks a 2nd consecutive hitter forcing in run #2 does Baldeli (total moron finally make a move. Romo didn't retire a single batter and less than 50% of his pitches were strikes.
Alcala now in with the bases loaded, still no outs and allows a run scoring single lacing it thru the hole at shortstop with the inf. drawn in.
Was able to retire the Reds with no mor eruns scoring. 3 runs to come back just to tie is a tall order.
