Stashak in for the top of the 6th. Struggling with his control (just a little off the plate). Just noticed that he's been setting up at the far L edge of the rubber on all of his pitches. That may be because that's the only dry spot on the mound or the landing spot when he follows through on his pitches. Nevertheless, he retired the Reds in order despite being behind in the count.
Still 5-2 Twins. Per the announcers, the rain seems to have let up a little (in the 4th and 5th it was coming down pretty steady) so chances are the game will go 9.

May have spoken too soon. Rain is really coming down in the top of the 7th. Stashak gave up a back to back hard singles to lead off the inning. Baldeli better have 2 pitchers up in the BP just in case. Stashak records a SO but Baldeli pulls him in favor of Rogers as the next 3 Reds hitters are all lefty.

Rogers just isn't the same pitcher as last year. Loads them up on a HBP. Runs the count full on the next hitter but gets a SO on a slider low and outside the zone that the hitter waved at.

Stepped away for a moment when Stashak got pulled and didn't notice that the Reds got 1 run off Rogers by the 1st batter he faced who singled before Rogers recorded SO and the final out on a grounder to SS.
5-3 Twins heading into the bottom of the 7th.

And the doubles keep "raining down" (pun intended). Adrianza leads off with a gapper to LC. The bottom of the Twins order gets it. Now if only the big sluggers (Cruz, Sano and Donaldson) could get the message. Good things happen when you hit the pitch where it's thrown rather than try and pull everything.

Adrianza advanced to 3rd on a WP, Kepler stays disciplined and draws a BB so runners at the corners with 0 outs. Arraez and Rosario up next with the best chance to drive in an insurance run followed by Cruz.
Arraez comes thru with a hard single to RF to score 1. Still runners at the corners as Kepler advanced to 3rd.

Rosario comes thru with a SAC fly but Arraez got thrown out at 2nd trying to advance on the throw to the plate which was cut off and he was an easy out.
For as good a hitter Arraez is, he's a poor base runner.
Twins up 7-3.

Rogers starts the 8th and gets 2 quick outs on grounders and Baldeli inexplicably pulled him in favor Duffey who gets the final out on 2 pitches. Reds are down to their final 3 outs. Will be interesting to see if Badleli gives Duffey the chance to finish the game.

Cave leading off was HBP. Thrown out at 2nd trying to steal,Twins challenge overturned even though replays clearly show he got his finger tips in before the tag and even though he slid past it, the Red's SS didn't hold the tag while Cave had the presence of mind to then get his foot against the side of the bag. Bad call.

A's lost both games of a double-header against Seattle meaning that if the Twins hold on and win tomorrow, they will be the #2 seed in the PO's.
