Kirk is who he is. He aint winning it all. Get Lawrence, retool the O line, and build for a championship, not just a chance to go 1 and done as an average team in the playoffs. Our defense is a 2 year rebuild now anyway at minimum. Why not do this right instead of what we have always done. At this point we only have like 400k in salary cap so we are stuck with who we have. There is no hope with our QB, oline, cb experience, and dt's right now anyway. Get a qb, build the trenches, and get a coach that hasnt peaked. Zim is like Kirk. Good, not great, while shrinking when the lights are at their brightest.

The opportunity to do this closed when the Vikings chose to resign Cousins and keep as many of their vets as they could afford. Had the Vikings lost to the Saints it may have resulted in a true rebuild, including GM and HC, but the Wilfs are not prepared to go through a couple miserable years for the possibility of coming out MUCH better on the other side. Stability seems to be their guiding principle. Good is good enough in Minnesota.

I'm on board for tanking. vikings don't really have a shot at the playoffs anyway. At least not with what we saw yesterday

The Vikings would have won multiple Super Bowls over the past 40 years if they would take the QB position as seriously as GB has.
Sacrifice a season, trade players, draft picks, whatever it takes to get the franchise QB. If you miss, try again, and again.
One day, you hit the jackpot and land a Mahomes.
You donβt get that guy through free agency or a trade.
This isnβt that hard to understand.

Ha! welcome to the party. I've been saying this since January. If we are going to take the leap, cut some vets, trade those with value, and play all the rookies. Find out who has a future going forward and get the top pick. The good news is we are already ahead of the Jags.

The opportunity to do this closed when the Vikings chose to resign Cousins and keep as many of their vets as they could afford. Disagree with this. Cousins deal is easy to get out of next year, and this would be a great time to flip the roster = Cap savings $$$. With 15 draft picks they can go very young and get those young players some NFL experience. You can identify who is worth keeping going forward. With Hunter ailing you can take your time bringing him back and build your defense around him and Kendricks going forward. Get Dye on the field at LB, get him experience and see what potential he has, Wilson looked terrible and will never be more than a back up and spot player. Harris is over 30 and on a 1 year franchise deal so his departure frees up $12M = Cap savings $$$. Reiff is very likely in his last year so lets get Cleveland in there now, Reiff gone at the end of the year = more Cap savings $$$. Get Samia and Uda on the field and get them playing time, they certainly cannot be much worse than the current guards... Get Jefferson and Irv more playing time, Rudy is likely gone next year moving forward = more Cap savings $$$. With very young CBs you will be lucky to be able to stop top QBs from throwing on the Vikings D, even more so with a poor pass rush. With the Pandemic this year, it offers a great opportunity to totally flip the roster in what will most probably be an asterisk year. The NFL seems to be a league where you need a Top QB on a Rookie deal to have a real shot at the Championship. Lastly with all the protesting, rioting, social justice, PC bull crap, the team and league are pushing fans away this year anyway. Go ahead, rip the band aid off and lets get set up for the next decade. Will being really bad suck? off course but I can't think of a better year to do it and get one of the best pro prospects in years. The Vikings could be back in the payoffs as contenders in 2 years.

Oline Oline Is the fault not Kirk they were bad as ever that safety on Kirk the safety he was In there In 3 secs no way any QB would have time to do anything quit blaming Kirk this game wasn't his fault. Our new DE not his fault either signed with the team Sept 3 that gives 10 days to learn ZIM D, Not our young corners not there fault either no preseason games late training camp It was throwing them to the wolfs AR new this and this Is the results.
Here Is the fault of all this;
1.Pandemic
2. Front office no brainer there
3. ZIM/Spell enough said there

I like Kirk but he is only good for us if he is on a much cheaper contract as I donβt want a qb who canβt win games on his own taking the cap room he does.

I'd love to get Trevor Lawrence. But that ain't gonna stop GBay's OLine and DLine from beating the hell out of us.

If a fan wants this team to tank, then just get the F out right now. You never EVER cheer for a team to tank.
Theres no guarantee Lawrence will be a success either. He could be a flop in the wrong system or suffer from a major injury and not recover from it.
Kirk wasn't the problem on Sunday and anyone who thinks so doesn't know shit about football

The fundamental point of sports is to compete to win - always. I don't get why you'd even bother watching a team play if that were the case. Imagine how painful sports would be to watch if by a 3rd or halfway through the season, the bottom 3rd of the league just quit trying to play.

Sometimes you have to sacrifice the now for what you want later, if what you want later can't be achieved now. I want to date a hot super model. Should i just continue to eat cheetos, lay on the couch and pound on fuglys, or sacrifice the now, mix in a salad, and maybe jog a little for the hope of a better tomorrow. There is still no guarantee that if I change my ways im getting that super model, but i know beyond certainty that by doing what i have been for the last decade I have no chance at all. Hey cheetos and 2s may be just fine for some and thats ok, but I want that 10, or at least the hope of getting that 10.
