Jets would gladly move on from Darnold for Lawrence. Miami would have a tough decision. The jaguars were three points away from being 2-0 against one of the top teams, theyβre going to win more than we are. Washington barely chose Haskins over Alex Smith. Giants would take Lawrence over Jones. And us? Weβd trade down for a cornerback.

Jets Lions Dolphins Giants Washington Skins, Fins, and KittIns are 100% going to finish with better records. It will be between the Vikes and the two NYC teams, where the Giants are a better team (but might not have a better record). Still, Eagles and Redskins on par with Vikes games against Lions and Bears, plus Bengals and Browns. Jets have Broncos (in 2 weeks), Browns, and Fins and Pats equivalents to Lions and Bears.

the giants are pleased with jones, they wont take Lawrence. phins absolutely wont. falcons may. panthers may. I expect them to lose a bunch with CMC out.

True, but they will be "trade out threats" if ahead of the Vikes. Things is, the Vikes have a brutal schedule. So, for example, Carolina is one of the 3 weakest teams left on the Vikings schedule - and they have their own tough schedule (Vikings, Chargers, Broncos, Washington, Falcons, Bears, Lions the "weaker" games). But they barely lost to a Raiders team that just beat the Saints. They were beat pretty soundly by the Bucs (who had a "bounce back" game) but still put up 427 yards of offense, despite only rushing for 87 yards. They have a good offensive line and a defense that, while also reeling from a lot of turnover, has more young raw talent than the Vikes (Derrick Brown, Gross-Matos, Brian Burns on top of the recovering from injury Short and former Vike Weatherly - Shaq Thompson and Tahir Whitehead at LB, Donte Jackson at CB, etc. Mike Davis had a decent season 2 years ago with Seattle so he may be able to hold the fort down, and they have a guy on the PS who was successful for them in limited rushes last season (16 for 116, 1 TD) and a speedster scat-back as the current 3rd string RB. But there's a lot of evidence that RB is one of the easier positions to replace and fill with a passable person in the NFL. They are good at WR (not so much at TE - maybe they want Rudolph). Anyway, they aren't likely to have a winning season, but I don't see them as an under 4 win team -- they just haven't looked nearly as bad as the Vikings, are better on the OL, have much more talent on the interior DL and with an out or banged up Hunter, more at the DE position, too. They could be a trade up risk, though.

The only teams that absolutely wonβt take Lawrence arenβt going to be in the running for him anyway. Chiefs, Ravens, Seahawks etc. Member when Arizona was absolutely going to trade out of the #1 spot because they had just taken Josh Rosen, and didnβt need Kyler Murray? I member, and he wasnβt as highly rated as Lawrence is. No one wants to be the GM that passed on Michael Jordan because he wasnβt at a position of need. Could they trade out? Sure. Is it an absolute given? Nope.

It'll be down to us and Jacksonville for the Trevor sweepstakes The sad part is I'd trade Cousins for Minshew in a nano-second right now. The Jags have a QB with some moxie.

Yep, now just need the jets to beat someone. We only need to be in the top 3 to get one of the qbs on the board, first is preferable but I would take any of the top 3 propects right now. I want us to build around a franchise qb for once

Trey Lance may eventually be the best out of everyone.
His tape is absolutely outstanding while he is under duress. Unbelievable playmaking skills and decision making.

Of the teams vying for the top two positions of the draft, because I think Fields will be coveted as well, only the Dolphins, Giants, and Bengals would absolutely not be in the market for a QB. I don't think the Falcons would be in the mix but I think the Lions could be and yes, I think they'd take Lawrence if they had the #1 spot. The other teams in that group, which includes the Vikings, Panthers, Jags, and Jets would definitely take a QB. The issue may be that the Vikings are in that #4 or #5 position, and IMO Rick isn't going to try to trade up to get a franchise QB. Partly because he's going to have to give up a high pick(s) to do it, and the other part is by doing so it's an admission that extending Cousins was a mistake. I mentioned that the Wilfs might force his hand on a QB at the #1 or #2 draft spot, but I don't think they force his hand in terms of a trade up. I actually do think that Rick would take a QB at the top two spots without coercion.

Yep Ricks HUGE ego will get in the way ...Its ok to trade picks for a veteran QB if its desperation time .otherwise he is NOT interested .

Calling it right now: We will beat Jacksonville on December 6 in a crucial game that has huge draft slotting ramifications, because we're the Vikings and nobody can snatch defeat fron the jaws of victory quite like we can (well, maybe the Falcons...)

Yes sir//That would be worth taking 10k to Vegas to bet on the Vikes if the loss meant good things for them...

Yes, that would suck, luckily there are other top prospects at the top of the draft that , Justin Fields for example, that would also be a very nice pick.
