Any team that drafts Penix will have to account for him being a lefty.
O line will have a different blind side to protect and pass catchers may take a little bit to to adjust to reverse rotation.
San Fran had great pass catchers when Steve Young was named QB but drops spiked for 4-8 weeks.
That said if you are getting your QB of the future these are issues you deal with.

Penix did not look good in the title game.
He looked incredible in the semi-final game and Texas has a pretty good Defense.

O'Neil is a better RT than most If the WR's he works on a daily basis will take time to adjust... think about how hard it will be for a DB to get their hands on it.

Watch both games Penix played against Oregon this year. Penix is flat out a baller. I don't care if he's left handed.

It is more then that RT becomes the backside on predominant roll out side which means he would play on an island more. There is a lot of small stuff to it, but it shouldn't matter if you are doing it for a starter. Lot of teams will not carry a lefty backup just because of the hassle.

Darrisaw had an off year, but has the skill set to be eliteβ¦OβNeil does not. He gets overwhelmed by speed rushers.

Here is the thing I like Penix and I think I have made comments about liking him going back over a year, but the 3 major injuries and age are concerns as far as where the value is with him... If Washington ends up liking him would they look at a trade down to #11 to get more draft capital?

Washington Huskies won the Joe Moore Award last season for having the best offensive line in college football. Penix Jr. wonβt have that with the Vikings.
