Penix Jr.βs top wide receiver at Washington, Rome Odunze, will be drafted higher.

Penix was an all tools QB prospect when he got recruited to Indiana and got hurt multiple times and has turned into a pocket QB because of that. He is not quick or sudden. 4.5ish pro day is nice, but it doesn't translate. Maye for instance is just as fast and has running instincts. To beat a dead horse to death McCarthy was 5th at the combine in 3 cone drill and was doing shuttles with times that rivaled the CB's and by 5th I mean 5th in the entire draft class. You can see his elusiveness on tape. Daniels has no official time, but he is faster and is a runner, but his issue is he is a run first instinct sort of guy. Happy for Penix and his pro day and I like him as a back half of the 1st round guy.

Not a fan of Penix and would not want him on the Vikings. Injuries are one thing, but having two ACL injuries is not really a fluke, IMO. It's more of a fluke that Terry Allen had made himself a career after having them. Something about Penix I cannot put my finger on yet, but what I do know is my gut says to stay away. JaMarcus Russell come to mind? Ha! Not that bad. I didn't expect Russell to do well in the NFL, but didn't ever expect him to fall flat on his face that quickly.

if the Vikings want to shock the world?? Grab 2 QBs at both #11 and #23. Mike drop moment for the Vikings.
Thi is really not that far fetched. Nobody would flinch if we traded both our 1sts for JJ McCarthy so what if he somehow dropped to us at 11 and Penix was somehow still sitting there at 23? We'd have a 3 way battle for starter in training camp.
Trade away the "loser" next year and we'd at least get a 2nd back.
RGIII/Kirk Cousins in 2012 comes to mind and that worked out pretty well for Washinton. If you look at that draft, RGIII went 2nd overall. 2nd overall is easily the equivalent of 11 and 23 plus a following year 1st rounder. So Washingtons investment in QB that year was at least 11th overall, 23rd overall , a following year first plus a 4th rounder (for Cousins). Waaaay more than I am saying the Vikings would be investing.
Sure it's a long shot that either will be sitting there when we pick, but who knows. But its no more commitment to the position than what most experts are suggesting and yet we probably double our chances of getting it right.

It could be like getting Zach Wilson AND Mac Jones in the same draft!

I like the out of box thinking, but to say it worked well for Washington is a little far fetched. They haven't won anything since they did that, nor did they find their QB of the future in the process. If JJM and Penix fall to 11 and 23, it's an interesting strategy, but the future QB will need more help on the line than in competition, IMO.

He is not quick or sudden. But isnβt he nimble? I thought I heard that somewhere

In addition to age and injury concerns, itβs also going to require you to find another cornerstone to your O-Line. As a leftyβ¦ itβs going to totally mess up your OL. There is no way you can leave OβNeil at RT blocking his backside and youβd be overpaying Darrisaw as a LT with a left handed QB..
Donβt like this pick at all.

You must just spew crap on here daily without knowledge of what you are referencing.
