Best case scenario we get out qb at 11 and draft a DT, CB, DE or G ar 23 Obviously depends on who they'd get but if this is how it played out I wouldn't lose my mind. Everyone is getting so wrapped up in the idea that 4 QBs will be gone by pick 5. But that reeks of teams gaming media to lay down smokescreen. Last year the hype was a record shattering number of QBs going round 1. Reality was 3 went in round 1. Last year was one of the worst I recall for QBs going in the rounds most pundits had them graded in.

Well now; this is getting interesting, or scary; depends on how one looks at it. There's a lot one could do with these two picks; I just hope fear isn't riding on making this type of move.
This defiantly looks like; I'm putting my job on the line move. Having no 2nd or 3rd round pick could hurt; a lot; you could be making this a weak draft for yourself. I really think the quality of picks falls off after the 3rd round.
This most interesting at most with this move; hmmmm.
Just a reminder, we are flush with cash for next year's Free Agency which makes a weaker draft not as big of a concern. I think we're sitting pretty for 2025,26,27. I'm even going to go as far as being the first to say it here... Kwesi > Spielman. Exactly! They will have I think the third most cap money. So while not ideal, they are swinging to get the franchise QB and then will be huge spenders in FA to make up for lack of draft capital. Now FA is an asset is they go about it right and sign multiple mid level players to fill the spots. Im personally not a fan of blowing your wad of cash on 1 player who might not turn out.

Spielman built a roster that got us to an NFC title game, then tried to go over the hump with Cousins which blew up in his face. Check back in 2026 given hindsight is 20/20.

Trade the (I'm going to break the bank) guy for a top #1 pick this year and a possible 1 next year and a possible 3rd this year. Get 3 picks in the first then one could get your QB, WR, and a DT or CB in the first round this year........

LOT of good players will be around for pick 11 and pick 23.
This really makes things interesting. Remember if you are in Love with a QB you think will go Top 5 the Vikings still have next years First round pick for collateral.

This doesn't happen 6 weeks before the draft without buy-in from multiple people and a likelihood to get a player(s) those several people believe in.

Yeah this move indicates thereβs a top 3 QB they like and want to be able to move up to get him. Traded next yearβs 2nd round pick in order to avoid trading next yearβs 1st round pick.

Hereβs my take: Williams, Daniels and Maye will be taken with the first three picks. Cardinals stay at four and take the wide receiver Harrison Jr. Iβve seen lots of mock drafts showing the Giants taking McCarthy at pick six. So, the Vikings need to jump in front of the Giants to get McCarthy. That means making a trade with Jim Harbaugh and the Chargers to get the fifth pick.

Trade to #5 and take JJ. Vikings won't be relevant for 3 yrs, but if they feel he can be a franchise Qb, go for it!

Trading up. What a new concept. Yep all smoke and mirrors. They are just setting up for a more dramatic trade down than normal. Just think of all the 7th round picks we can stockpile....lol! Kidding aside, will be interesting to see the final plan.
