Really think Maye or JJ is their top two targets, and I also agree that their willing to trade their two firsts to the Chargers to get JJ; Harboughs (spelling) guy, and due to that fact the Charges would be willing to just take the two first and move on to fill their needs. If they go for Maye; it will cost them more. Fear of lossing JJ is whats driving this thing, and if Williams starts dropping; I would say; buyer beware, because if he doesn't go in the first 3 picks; that would spell danger to me.
They can still (Chargers) gather more picks with trading out of #11 for even more picks. I think this is more or less whats on their minds. JMO

1. Maye 2. Williams 3. Daniels 4. Penix 5. McCarthy
Please dont tell me they traded all that draft capital just to again trade up for McCarthy
Maye is the guy i want. If we are going all in on QB then for me its either him or Williams
If not, trade #11 and draft Penix at 23

OK I have you marked down for fine with Maye upset if itβs McCarthy
I wonβt tell you if they draft McCarthy but youβll probably figure it out soon enough on your own.
I think we all have our favorites, but Iβm gonna let KOC and the scouting department decide who is the best prospect and fit for us that we can get.

Fair enough. We all have our favorites. All we can do is hope that KOC's favorite is the guy they get and he turns out to be the right choice. For me its:
1- Maye (all the physical tools you could want) 2- McCarthy (winning isn't the only thing, its everything) 3- Daniels 4- Williams (not a fan of his mental make up but is physically gifted) 5- Penix (too many injuries and is already 25) 6- Nix

I have no idea who the right guy is. kAM and KOC were hired to find the right guy and Iβll support their pick. If the pick craps out then they need to be fired and we hire another team to find a QB. I hope the Wilfs learned their lesson from Rick that a GM doesnβt get 15 years to find a QB.

Of the six most published of this current draft QB group, 4 have heavy past with the PAC 12, so it is a group I'm very eager to watch progress living near Sun Devils home turf in AZ.
The M and M guys (Michigan/NC) are most linked to the Vikings for style/fit - but I really don't care which of the six are taken (including Williams/Daniels/Penix/Nix); as long as it is indeed one of these! Outside this group are Mond-like projects.
I very glad to have the Darnold insurance factor - but he is a rental only and the rookie must learn fast.
My fave of the bunch in College was Daniels - but he could easily wash out in the pros on the wrong team.

Williams - I've seen almost every snap he took at USC, generational talent Maye Nix Daniels Penix
I do not get the McCarthy hype, he was a game manager at Michigan, I think Nix is one of the safest picks, he is a football dog, has that edge to him that he will do whatever it takes to win. If Penix can stay healthy someone is going to get a steal with him.

Honestly, from the scouting that I have seen, and with the power / talent imbalance between good and bad teams in the NCAA (not to mention scheme issues), all of the QBs make me nervous. Big time crap shoot, and not sure any will be that great. Darnold was supposed to be great. Then the Jets drafted Wilson, who was supposed to be great. It seems like there have been a lot more misses than hits in 1st round QBs in recent years - hence so many teams looking for QBs and so many older QBs hanging on in the league.

Williams Maye JJM
Other 3 are old and other issues though I would have not minded Penix late 1st or early 2nd, but that ship has sailed. Daniels I will say it again he would not function well in KOC's offense and I do not believe KOC would tailor an offense to suit his talents. He is an interesting player but just not a fit. People that do not like JJM have not watched him. People said he had a weak arm and he tied the old record for passing velocity at the combine (Milton set a new record) and was tossing the ball 50+ in drills with little effort. Lot of these QB's are old and JJM and Maye both were better at younger age then the rest. Williams is just Williams.

Darnold yeah, Wilson was not even close to being in the same class as top 4 this year. Funny that both went to the same very poorly run organization. Wilson was a really late riser like last few weeks before the draft. Wilson I never got, Lance has flamed out but you have to take shots at guys like Lance(Daniels this year) because of the raw talent.

They only have 15M in SB money prorated to him and he has a 6M G salary and a 10M bonus due next week. I think they actually save 1M in the deal for this years cap. Herbert's contract is really funky how it is structured. So Roo you typically are the guy I view as the cap expert on the board. I donβt think after paying Darnal 10 M this is the plan, but IF we are trying to trade for Herbert vs. a Rookieβ¦.what would be Herbertβs cap hits to us in 24,25,26 For us it would be 16M in 24' (6M salary and 10M from option bonus), 34M for 25' (15M salary and 19M option bonus), 43M in 26' (24M salary 19M option) I believe all 3 years of option bonuses G next week. It is a really strange contract for a young elite talent. He even had IR offset language in his contract and Chargers got a rebate at end of the year when he had the minor injury and they shut him down.

I have heard people suggest that Harbaugh might even help facilitate a deal if it came up to help JJM get to a better situation. Chargers will not deal with Denver.

Maye and McCarthy are the best fit for us. I think we end up with McCarhty, because in order to get to the 2nd or 3rd spot in the draft, would require trading with a team who is also desperate to get a franchise QB. Youβre going to have to blow them away in terms of compensation to trade that pick because they know youβre going to take the guy they otherwise would take. Likely 3yrs of #1 picks plus JJ.
McCarthy can likely be had in the 5-11 range. While Iβd personally take Maye over McCarthy if both were available, I just donβt see us being able to get to #2 without offering something so unreasonable

Maye is likely to be the guy with the hardest transition to the NFL of the 3, but has the highest ceiling. Eerily similar to Josh Allen coming out. Daniels needs to have a system catered to his skillsets. Everything about the Washington situation screams Daniels to them even with their choice of bridge QB (Mariotta is an RPO type athletic QB even if he is not a spring chicken any more). Chicago is still a complete mystery at the top of the draft even though it seems slam dunk they should take Williams.

As impressive are some of the attributes for Maye/Daniels and Williams are - OMG on Herbert! He has to soon just blow the roof off someday, somewhere...4.71 40, 10" hands, 6'6" at 236. Justin Herbert2020 Guide: What Ourlads' Scouting Services said about JUSTIN HERBERT: Oregon, 6062 236 4.71. Four-year starter, Eugene, OR. A three-time academic All-America and winner of the William V. Campbell trophy (the academic Heisman). Was the MVP of the Rose Bowl win over Wisconsin and voted the MVP of the 2020 Senior Bowl. Played in a wide open pistol spread offensive scheme where he gets the ball out quickly. The top graded athletic quarterback at the Combine passed for 10,541 yards and 95 touchdowns with 23 interceptions. He rushed for three scores in the Rose Bowl. Rare size for the position with above average ball velocity and arm strength. Makes quick decisions in the pitch and catch offense. Will throw the ball on a frozen rope down the field or on out-breaking routes, yet has touch on the swing, flat, and check down passes. The fluid passer has a sculpted 6 foot 6 plus frame and features a quick release. Built to hold up on Sundays. A true running threat when he breaks the pocket. Can develop even more as a run/ option threat on the next level. He covers a lot of ground in a hurry with long but quick strides. Decisive when running the football. The Oregon offensive scheme didnβt showcase Herbertβs ability to read blitzes and coverages. He throws a variety of screen passes to help his completion percentage. Saw the field better in 2019 than previously. Student of the game. A quiet leader who leads by example. Senior Bowl notes: Demonstrated his ability as a rhythm mobile passer. Good fakes and footwork on play action passes. Has the arm strength to hit his targets short, medium, and long. Good week of practice, however still showed some hesitation before cutting the ball loose. His anticipation and ball placement gets better by the minute. Has the smarts and talent. 2019 stats: 286/428, 3471 yds, 66.8%, 32 TD, 6 INT, 50 yds rushing, 4 TD, 156.81 QB rating. Ball velocity 55 mph. OSR:1/15. First round. (A-33 3/8, H-10, SS-4.46, VJ-35.5).
