Over the years there's been a lot of clamoring to pivot from KC and draft a legit prospect at QB. For those most vocally in this camp call it now. What's an acceptable give to move up to say AZ's pick and draft one of Stroud, Young, Levis, Hooker or Richardson?

#23 pick moving up to #3 is way too much for my taste, especially with so few picks now. They're gonna see how it plays out for a micro move, IMHO, or get one of their scouted lower tier QBs late. Any move up for or a lower tier guy is Still Sitting for '23 behind KC. Doesn't matter! Oh, I don't hate Kirk, like some, but moving on at some point is gonna happen.
If that guy isn't right (i.e. Mondesque), draft one again next draft.

Davis or Stroud I would be ok with them moving a lot of stuff. Davis is not dropping much, but maybe Stroud drops to 5 or so? Levis not interested. Richardson 2 firsts would seem like a lot for him. Hooker I would not trade up for.

Well, if I am allowed amongst the great “scouts” on this board (lol), there is no way in hell I am giving up on Kirk for a roll at the roulette wheel. So good luck to all of you “scouts” (lol) on this board.
I would rather scout high school baseball, at least it translates to the professional game.

Easy.
I’d trade 3 1st round picks for Caleb Williams or Drake Maye in 2024. Both guys are miles ahead of everyone in this class including Young. Their floors are substantially higher reducing your chance of failure and justifying the heavy draft capital.
Nothing for anyone in this class.
If one of the top guys slips to 23 and is the highest on the board then take him. Don’t trade capital to move up.
We need all the draft capital we can get to keep up with the Bears, Lions and Packers. People forget that those 3 teams have so much ammunition over the next 2 years from trades.

So, apparently, a whole lot of posters on the board with frickin' pissed if the Vikes draft any QB in this draft - regardless of method to get him! They all suck and next year (again) is way better and we have a way to get one then? I find it amusing as hell that another gaggle of posters (not mutually exclusive) are always threatening and warning about the moving on downfalls from Kirk. I personally don't miss any Vikings QB from the past as none was at the helm of a great championship season. Father Time is undefeated! Change happens. Let the Vikings QB position develop. It still is in Chicago and Green Bay in the same division. I just don't want a piece of junk draftee like a Treadwell or Underwood! No bizarre shock reaches. No TE or OT just because they were top on the board when each spot is already 2-3 deep. (I had to do it on this ### post!)

If you notice, the OP is about trading up to get a QB, and yes, there are a bunch of people in the board who who not be happy about giving up a bunch of draft capital to get the 4th or 5th QB. That's not the same as people being opposed to taking any QB at all.

I was more amused by the contrast these have to the typical process of watching "highlight" videos and the hype for prospects behind them. You have to be nuanced with this; this is high level bad that translates to the NFL. I personally like Clayton Tune as a guy to take later on and sit behind Cousins for a year, leaving the door open for another serious guy to come in next offseason and make it a competition. I think KoC has a great handle on his offense and how he wants it to go - i'd like to see him make that kind of decision between a couple of great options at QB frankly. The issue is, really with any later QB you like, it's hard to judge when it's "value" and when it's a "reach." These guys won't always shake out in a Kellen Mond, BPA/BVA, scenario where he's just there and the timing is right. You likely will have to move to get that guy.

The problem I see with the Williams idea is how non-chalant you were able to throw it out there. It's going to be a tough option when 3 1st round picks ends up being the absolute floor for a big market willing to make that trade too. Not only is he a highly coveted QB, but you probably are going to have to hard sell the team in position to take him off of him... like, a 1st rounder over 5 years to even get team to think about it.

I am no scout; but, if you see a Patrick Mahomes (like KC did)... you do whatever you have to do to get him.

Agree, what's more is even if one of those teams at 1 or 2 next year decides to trade the pick one of the teams at 3, 4, 5, ect will have a huge advantage over a team drafting in say the teens or twenties, you're going to have to pass (outbid) a lot of teams drafting higher than you who are equally interested in that pick. Almost certainly you would need to do multiple trades and acquire at least a top ten pick before you have any shot at moving to 1 or 2. The scenario is possible but highly improbable, improbable enough that it can't be the plan at this point.
