Actually Kirk threw beyond the sticks at a bit above average rate on 3rds. Really? I wonder which games I missed where he did that. He drove me crazy throwing 3 yard passes on 3rd and 5 in the ones I watched. I honestly don't knwo who or how they came up with that stat, because my eyes must have lied if it's true. I agree with you from a perception point of view. However IMO what is missing is that most of us do not see most of the other 15 games being played any given week. In reality, every QB throws behind the line to gain on 3rd at certain times. When you average all of that out over the course of a season, it turns out that our myopic view of issues like this often differs with the reality of league in general.

Everything that Zimmer stated was exactly true, despite all his physical traits, Cousins has never been able to elevate his play when it most matters and is not a team leader. Β I am not sure how a GM not only made the move to get Cousins, but then signed him to an extension without his head coach being onboard with the move. Β I can totally understand why Zimmer and Rick were not on good terms and I would have had to side with Zimmer. Β Anyone that sides with Zimmer after watching the last couple years needs to explain why. He hamstrung the offense with the run, run, pass philosophy until your are down 14-21 points. His defenses were average at best as he was playing schemes from the 80s and 90s.
