Romo comes in and 1st pitch got away from him and was wide of the plate by at least 6 feet. LOL
Next pitch grooved down the middle (very little movement on his slider) that was spanked into RF for a sharp single past a diving Arraez who was already playing shallow right field. Walked the next hitter. Baldeli came out to the mound (no one up in the BP + Romo has to pitch to 3 batters minimum) apparently to set up the D to guard again a bunt. No. Indians hitter (Lefty) went the opposite way for a double into the corner driving in 1, next hitter hits a deep enough FO to plate a 2nd run. Romo hits the next hitter in the back before Baldeli finally makes a move.
Trusts veteran pitchers like Romo but never gives guys like Duffey a chance to go more than 1, no matter how well Duffey has pitched both this year and the latter half of last year.

1st look at Coulombe. Short stocky guy who mainly throws a big (and I mean a really BIG) overhand curve that he can't get over the plate for a strike despite throwing it 80% of the time. Mediocre FB (only 89 mph) with no movement on it.
Indians teeing off on him too as he gave up a run scoring single and walked the bases loaded before finally (mercifully) gets a curve over for a SO to end the inning.
6-3 Indians after 8.
P.S. Coulombe also tips his pitches. When he throws his curve, he reaches way behind his back and throws the curve with an elongated arm motion. When he throws his FB, he holds it at shoulder level in front of his body. Makes it very easy for hitters to tell which pitch is coming. If his curve isn't working, all the hitter has to do is wait for his mediocre FB assuming he can throw it over the plate (usually high and out of the zone).

6-3 final. Disappointing back to back losses against the Indians' best pitchers (Bieber and Cleninger) both of whom the Twins had on the ropes but couldn't put them away and then the BP fails to do its job.
1/2 game lead now over the Tribe with the Sox nipping at the Twins heels only 1 game back.
