Looks like this is going to be one of those low scoring pitching duels you like, Proud.
Burns (Brewers' starter) throws a 97-98 heater with excellent location, ability to move it around and hit spots along with a nice slider that clocks in the mid 80's. Has mowed the Twins down in order the 1st 2 innings other than 1 BB. Maeda has matched him pitch for pitch so far (also 1 BB).

Still no score after 3. Funny moment happened when Kepler SO on a slider that landed at least 2-3 feet in front of the plate which he still swung on and missed but reached 1st because the ball caromed off the C's glove all the way to the TV stand near the Brewers dugout. Later stole 2nd. Polanco really battled but eventually struck out for the final out.

Not only has Maeda matched Burns' pitch for pitch, he just fanned his 8th batter in a row (9 total) thru 5 innings breaking the Twins record held by Liriano about 10 years ago and Jim Merritt back in '66 for the number of consecutive SO. Maeda is on FIRE!

Arraez led off with a double and Sano just smoked a grounder thru the infield with the shift on into L center and easily made it to 2nd for another double.
Twins up 1-0.

After Sano's double, reached 3rd on a WP, Kepler walked, stole 2nd (no throw), Polanco drew a walk but Cruz SO on a breaking ball outside of the plate.
Burns' pitch count was 84 with over 30 in that inning and clearly tiring. His FB still clocked in at @97 but he was wild high. His slider had too much break and mostly in the dirt. About the only pitch he was able to consistently get in for a strike was his change up. Managed to gut it out and prevent more damage.

Maeda's consecutive SO string finally ended but only 1 ball has even left the infield (pop fly to shallow C back in the 3rd). Carrying a no-hitter thru 6 but his pitch count is up to 77 and I doubt the Twins will let him pitch the 7th. Even if so, that would be his last inning.

To my surprise, Baldeli left Maeda in the for the 7th. Retired the side in order and picked up his 10K. Still has no hitter but his pitch count now 92. He's done his job and then some.

Polanco just hit an opposite field grounder by the 1st base bag down the line with 2 on driving in 1. HUUUUGE insurance run to give the Twins some cushion.
Twins 2-0 after 7.

Maeda still pitching top of the 8th. Guess Baldeli wants to give him a shot at a no-no.
Gave up his 2nd BB (1st was in the top of the 1st) sandwiched around SO's #12 and 13. Got the final out but he's clearly starting to labor. FB down to 90 (which he still spots effectively) but his slider and change are starting to dip out of the zone and Brewers' hitters are starting to foul off more pitches.
Pitch count now 113.

Brewers reliever very deliberate, already had a mound conference with the plate ump warning him about a balk, then is called for it after Rosario got walk, stole 2nd (initially ruled out but call revered after review), advanced to 3rd on the balk, Arraez walked and Adriana laid down a perfect squeeze bunt to plate Rosario with yet another HUUUUGE insurance run.
Maeda got plenty of rest so he's taken the mound to complete the no-hitter BUT his pitch count is already higher than any MLB start in his career.

And there goes the no-hitter. Lead off hitter hits a soft liner off the end of the bat just over Polanco's glove (shift on) for a single to C.
Outstanding performance by Maeda.
Rogers in for the save was greeted with a hard double to L off the wall. 2nd and 3rd and then issues a walk (slider no where near the strike zone to load them up).

Fark. Rogers not only loads the bases allowed a single to C for 1 run, then induces a grounder that the Twins can't convert for a DP that went off Gonzalez' glove so game is tied.
Blown save by Rogers and and the Brewers still had 1 out left with a runner on before Rogers got back to back SO's but what a terrible way to ruin Maeda's performance.
Twins will have to bat in the bottom of the night.

Now we get to see what the new extra innings rules look like.
On a side note, the uniforms the Brewers are wearing are the only ones I have seen in their history that aren't hideous.

Hate the new rule and the Brewers uniforms.
Thielbar does his job and retires the side with the "automatic" runner at 2nd to start the inning.
