Lewis Thorpe doesn't think his 6.75 ERA was high enough. 6-1 Brewers. Think I'll watch Mavs-Clippers only instead. Make it 8-1. Thorpe, who couldn't get a batter out his last outing forcing Stashak to come in with only 2 warm up pitches in the pen, gives up 4 hits, 3 BB's, 4 runs raising his ERA to 7.71. If I were the Twins, I'd release Thorpe and pick up any live body (even a ball boy) to replace him.
Was unable to post this about 2 hours ago because the Internet went down (fortunately I saved it).

Do-Hyoung Park @dohyoungpark 30s
Rocco Baldelli said Mitch Garver underwent some imaging that revealed a low-grade intercostal strain.
We're told a handful of roster moves are coming shortly.

Darren Wolfson @dwolfsonkstp 2m Littell back up is now official. The headline is Buxton and Garver to IL, with Ryan Jeffers having his contract selected. Thorpe down too, and Wade Jr. back up. Busy day. Injury bug, like with many teams, having a big impact on the #MNTwins.

Berrios is on FIRE to start this game. 6K's, no hits or BB's thru 3.
Vargas lined a gapper to RC and legged it out for a triple with 1 down in the bottom of the 3rd. Jeffers followed with a hard grounder thru the hole to L for a single to drive in Vargas. Jeffers is a big dude. 6'4", 240 but showed good poise and discipline at the plate in his first MLB AB.
Twins up 1-0.

Berrios issued a BB but continued to dominate the Brewers hitters notching another 2 SO's to make it 8 thru 4 innings.
Pitch count only 59 so averaging 12 per inning. At this rate he should be able to go at least 7-8 innings (keeping my fingers crossed).

Rosario hit a blooper for a single with 1 out, Sano followed with a gapper (not terribly hard, just well placed that rolled to the wall), Rosario was waved to go home but was thrown out at the plate on a perfect relay. Brewers also made another fine defensive play with Sano at 3rd to end the inning. So despite 3 hits, the Twins fail to score.
Still Twins 1-0.

Berrios' no hit bid ends with a single by the Brewers in the 5th but he retires the side and racks up SO #9.

After Vargas lined out sharply to C, the Twins followed with 3 consecutive singles to load them up for Cruz. Twins need to score and not waste another opportunity to break this game open. But, Cruz grounded into an inning ending DP.
Both Cruz and Sano who are such big, powerful hitters are being consistently pitched away (whether FB's or especially sliders). They should go with the pitch to the opposite field but they both try and pull everything.

Berios retires the side in order but the Brewers are now making adjustments at the plate and fouling off a lot off pitches. No SO's for the 1st time tonight. Pitch count up now up to 89. Might be able to squeeze 1 more inning out of him.

Twins load 'em up again for the 2nd straight inning with no out. Their SS made a nice play to prevent a single up the middle by Cave from getting thru to the OF. Twins only get 1 run across on a 1 out Sac Fly by Vargas (looks like a really nice pickup by the Twins and better than Adrianza IMO) that nearly made it to the warning track but the Brewers' OF make a nice over the shoulder grab. Otherwise it would have been a bases clearing double or another triple.
Twins squandering golden opportunities to break this game open. Kinda like a football tram repeatedly getting into the red zone and coming up empty or just a FG.

Crap. Duffey gave up an opposite field HR to Smoak (Brewers' clean up hitter) that barely makes over the wall in LC.
2-1 Twins going into the bottom of the 7th.

Finally. Cruz takes a high curve that hung to the opposite field for a 2 run HR.

Bases are juiced again with Twins in the bottom of the 8th with only 1 out. Kepler up who has a good eye and comes thru in clutch situations with Polanco on deck. Couple of more runs (or more) would be nice since the Twins have Littell (I cannot believe they kept him around) and Rogers (drilled by the Brewers in his last outing blowing that near near no hiitr by Maeda) up in the pen for the 9th.
Kepler drew a walk forcing in 1, then Polanco goes opposite field just fair down the 1st base line to drive in 2 more. Cruz gets an IBB to re-load them up for Rosario but he and Sano who followed chased pitches out of the zone.
7-1 Twins
