Thing is it gave them leverage where they could threaten to out spend anyone else to move up. Without the #23 they did not have that leverage. If you told me a few months ago we could trade a couple 2's a 3rd and some day 3 picks to get a QB and a blue chip pass rusher I would have been all in. Turner was not even on my radar he was considered pretty well across the board as the top defensive player in this draft. I’m a defense guy so I love getting Turner, but the price was high. I hope the Parsons projections come true. The lb package Flores has to play with will be fun to watch. I think Parsons is a freak and not comparable. I see Turner more like a Josh Allen type (not the QB). I am pumped about these picks. What would make it even better is finding a way to get Cooper Beebe OG somehow.

There are a lot of picks that go into drafting Turner including 2 seconds a third, a fourth and a fifth, but he is probably worth the tenth pick in the draft. That is why it was worth doing.

I love this draft but I have been outspoken that I do not value draft picks as much as some posters do unless they are for blue chippers. mid round picks can often be replaced by FAs
Draft picks are more important when your salary cap situation is tight and that can always be manipulated. You also can find ways to add draft picks. Like we did last year by signing Risner and trading Cleveland. Or trading Lowe. I could easily see this team get good compensation for Darnold in a year or two.
To me the cost of moving up to box out Denver for JJM is a NO brainer.
The cost to move up to draft Turner was steep but I consider him the best defensive prospect in this draft and trust Flores. Turner will be a beast in this system.

One more Michigan player who might be in play for the Vikings later in the draft who would be a perfect fit for the team.

There are still undrafted players after the draft too so relax we could find blue chip player there.

Any word on the terms of the trade? #23 and a 5th along with a 3rd and 4th next year (having already traded the #2 leaves the cupboard bare for next year's draft).
Another "brilliant" trade by Kwesi.
Yes it was. It's a bitch for some of you guys to see your "Trade down" philosophy reversed. You're right about one thing -- Kwesi sure as hell isn't Rick Spielman.

I have no idea what the compensation chart is; would we go another for Danielle or does Greenard offset that? Also, there is a slim chance they get something from ATL. The signing of Griffin negated the 3rd round comp pick for Hunter. IIRC they got another one when Osborn signed for 4 mil with the Pats and don't they still get one for Cousins?
