Kene Nwangwu is “day to day” with a soft tissue leg injury. They’re going to be smart and cautious with him.
Kevin O’Connell says Irv Smith Jr. sustained a thumb injury yesterday. He had surgery today, but they still think he’ll be available against the Packers.
Vikings OC Wes Phillips says the Rams’ coaches started calling TE Johnny Mundt “the Bear killer” because he happened to play well against Chicago multiple times with Tyler Higbee out
Dalvin Cook, who’d left with a member of the medical staff earlier in practice, is back in action now.
Andrew Booth Jr. and Lewis Cine seeing first-team reps in place of Patrick Peterson and Harrison Smith on vet day
With Jesse Davis taking a day's rest, it's Ed Ingram participating as the first team right guard. We still haven't seen much of that in a full speed or padded practice, but it's notable
Kirk Cousins just ripped a nice 30-yard ball to a very open Adam Thielen up the sideline. Perhaps a coverage miscommunication between Andrew Booth and Chandon Sullivan
It’s been a light workload for Cook since he came back; he’s been on the field for a couple snaps. Alexander Mattison is now getting a left finger wrapped on the sideline.

🧵 5 from @vikings 🧵
1) Ask the Vikings coaches/scouts who stands out, you'll get some form of —The core here is really good. And that's character-wise too. This isn't a teardown.
2) LT Christian Darrisaw ... 📈. To the staff, shades of Trent Williams in his build/movement.
3) Having experienced, heady LBs Jordan Hicks and Eric Kendricks has been huge for Ed Donatell in putting in the Fangio-style defense here.
4) Two guys who could factor bigger than expected: slot WR KJ Osborn and versatile, rangy S Cam Bynum (who had a phenomenal spring).
5) Biggest question is probably at CB. Patrick Peterson has adapted quickly to play off more in Donatell's system, but the Vikings still have to sort out the rest at the position. Cam Dantzler and rookie Andrew Booth are competing for the job opposite Peterson.
