And here I thought that Cousins was supposed to be one of the smartest QBs in the league, yet he likes Bradbury at C and Mannion as a backup QB.
Probably not a good idea for a QB to go around talking bad about their teammates (even if deserved). So of course he'll say good things about them --- just like if they signed Tretter tomorrow, he'd say how good he is.
But from early camp talk my takes are (a) Vikings desperately need a new center next year and (b) I don't think Mond will ever be anything in the league if he can't beat out Mannion by year 2. Look around the league and you'll see almost no QB developed slowly over years to become the starter. Cousins would be an exception but of course he was solidly #2 in Washington behind RG3 from day 1 but it was 4 yrs (I think) before they finally put him in as starter. Similar argument for Wyatt Davis -- if your 3rd round pick is still buried on 3rd line in year 2, he's probably never going to develop into a starter (or solid backup). Shame as i had hopes Wyatt would be a player for Vikes.

But again was instantly their #2 from 1st year (and sitting behind a legend). My point being that of course QBs get better with age/experience, but it's a pretty big myth that 3rd string/PS qbs ever develop into anything. Look around the league and all the starters showed they had NFL talent within the first year or two of being drafted.
So if you're telling me Mond can't, at minimum, beat out Mannion this camp -- statistics would say put a fork in him.

Yeah, I should have put a "/sarcasm" tag in my comment. You're right, of course, that a QB shouldn't throw teammates under the bus, but there have been a number of things written about Kirk actively advocating for Mannion and talking about how good he is in the QB room, and that goes way beyond not throwing Mannion under the bus. Anyway, just ignore my comment, as it was sarcasm that clearly didn't work.

I didn't take you too seriously -- but honestly with this board it's hard to tell at times. I see others posting quotes from the OL about Bradbury being 'good' when every actual play I see him in suggests the opposite.
My take is Kirk say really nice things about Mannion because he knows Mond is a distant third (otherwise he'd be talking up the new kid). Or maybe a starting QB likes knowing their starting job isn't in danger from a mediocre backup. LOL...
