Have there been any Donaldson updates? I can't find anything at the Twins mlb site.
I see he last played July 31 and that of course he is on the IL.

Nice to see good pitching and defense on both sides I take it you mean our Twins, not the other side. Twins have 2 aboard, 2 out with Marwin at the plate who has been one of our better hitters even if his average doesn't reflect it. Called strike 3 that was was definitely wide of the plate and he had a convo with the plate ump about it.
No both teams. I'd rather see a 2-0 game than an 11-10 nonsense mess. And this ump stinks.

Josh Donaldson (calf) had a successful workout day on Monday. The activities included machine cardio, infield practice at third base, and batting cage work. Donaldson felt some lingering discomfort after a workout on Friday, but he had no issues with anything on Monday and could be moving toward a return from the injured list sometime later this week. The veteran third baseman has been sidelined since the first week of August because of a strained right calf. Source: Betsy Helfand on Twitter Aug 17, 2020, 7:52 PM ET

Sano doubled to deep L center and with an 0-2 count, Kepler drilled a single into the RF corner but the outfielder got there quickly to hold him to a single.
Twins now up 3-0.

I like Duffey. Very under-rated. Has good velocity (a little off his high of 98 last year) but has 3 other excellent pitches he can throw for strikes.

Duffey managed to retire the Royals but not before a weak grounder right over the 3rd bag that was barely fair and turned into a double followed a weak fly ball just over the 2nd baseman's glove to put runners at the corners. Got Mondesi on a great curve ball and induced a grounder up to middle to Marwin (Twins had the shift) for an easy 3rd out (made a nice adjustment as the ball grazed the bag).
Not throwing his heater as much this year (got it up to 97-98 several games last year). Looks like Wes Johnson (pitching coach) is getting him to use his other pitches instead because they're so good.
Sure wish he could have retired the side in order with minimum pitch count so he would finally get a chance to go 2 innings but his threw 20 (14 strikes).
May up in the BP for the 8th. Hopefully he won't be erratic as he has been several games this as well as last year. Relies too heavily on his 97-99 FB (straight as as string) that often sails way high.

Cruz with his 2nd solo homer into the BP (not the same kind of distance as the 1st one that was off the facade of the upper deck).
Twins up 4-0 now.

May retired the Royals in order with 2 SO's but his stat line is deceiving. Threw FB's almost exclusively (97-98), was trying to spot his mediocre change up (most were balls) and threw 1 slider that had little to no bite on it.

O M G. Baldeli calls in Littlel who immediately gives up a HR to the 1st hitter (4th HR in just over 4 innings this year) followed by a solid single. This game is not over. If he gives up another hit, hopefully Baldelli yanks him and brings in Romo or Rogers despite both pitching in the last 2 games to finish this before more damage is done.
Managed to get out of trouble on a line drive that turned into a DP but he still sucks.
Twins win 4-1 and take 3 out of 4 from the Royals.
