No way. Is Elf injured or something?

Isn't a little bit early to go for players being brought in for competition or depth. At this point in the market, we'd be overpaying. Haeg listed as a OT but graded as just 1 1/2 stars. Was a 5th round pick that added depth to the line, but my hope is that some of the guys we invested in begin to develop. Like Collins if he could stay healthy

And still would be better than Elflein.
Everybody should just give up on Spielman spending big on o-linemen. It's never happening. Just hope that what pennies we throw out to backups turn into diamonds in the rough. For whatever reason, thats the way this franchise has chosen to approach the o-line in FA

If a lineman is available it is pretty much a given they are costing more then they are worth. Haeg is intriguing since he is from Brainard.

Meh, would probably be an upgrade though. PFF grades:
2019 71.9 (played only 72 snaps) 2018 59 (played 364 snaps) 2017 64.1 (played 987 snaps) 2016 67.9 (played 952 snaps)

Typical Rick FA pick up. We need improvement over Elf.

If it hasn't been obvious the last decade it should be now. Zimmer wants front line CB's and DL. A good RB and kickers. A QB who doesn't take chances and an OC that will develop a "safe" offensive system. OL is an afterthought and has been for a long time. Most top teams prioritize the O-line in the age of the QB but we're stuck in a time warp it seems. On the good news front.... we've got a lot of picks to trade to improve our punting and kicking....

He signs for 1 year at $2.3M which makes me wonder how bad we wanted him. Then again not sure what Baileys contract numbers are and we had only about $7-8M in cap space. Since multiple teams were interested in Bailey, I'd say he did not come cheap and we may not currently have enough to beat Haeg's offer. We still need to come up with money for our draft pool and have a handful of FAs left unsigned. Personally this team needs to trade away the older players and rebuild now. O-line will be young and need time to develop and the defense has taken a big step back.
