Cousins and Rhodes have as much trade value as the gym sucks that I just threw in the hamper.

You guys are utterly delusional if you even entertain the notion of this happening. Burrows to Cinci has been the reality since week 13 or 14 when the Bengals secured the #1 pick.
To pry that away from them would take a double-Ditka giveaway, something like every pick from 2020 and 2021 combined. Cross Burrows off your list. He's a Bengal for the next 4 years minimum, probably longer.

I think it would take a mountain, and the house on it, to pry that pick from the Bengals. That's not saying Burrow will be the next NFL stud, but he's really shiny right now.

Look at recent history and none of the proposals in this thread are even close.
The Eagles moved from #8 to #2 to draft Wentz and gave up 1, 3, 4 and a 1, 2 the following year. This was after they had already traded up twice I believe to get to #8.
The Rams moved from #15 to #1 to take Goff, #15 was the lowest any team had ever moved to #1 from and they gave up 1, 2, 2, 3 and 1, 3 the following year.
The Vikes are at #25 and would likely have to trade up twice to get to the top 10 and then give up what either the Eagles or Rams gave up. Trading current players as part of the deal(s) especially older high salary guys isn't going to work, teams want picks.
Beyond that you would be competing with teams who are much better situated to move up and would have to out bid them. Miami for instance who is sitting at #5 and has a boatload of extra picks, the Panthers who just spent a ton on a new coach would have a much easier time moving up from 7.
This is all assuming the #1 pick is available, which it likely isn't. Burrow is an Ohio kid why would the Bengals pass him up? They certainly wouldn't want Cousins at 30+ mill a year when Burrow would be much cheaper and sell a lot more tickets day one, even Cincy won't screw this up by trading the pick.

Yikes. When I saw the chatter, wanted to understand the possible price. Obviously, based on those other trades...pretty gargantuan.

I imagine a bunch of teams would like to snag Burrows in the draft. Could be a bidding war to try and get him, even if Cincy would trade?

Any of the old value charts out there are pretty useless for figuring out the top of round 1 value vs later round picks. I think it's mostly because of the rookie salary cap, which made the highest picks much more attractive.

It would take a miracle is what it would take. A goddammed purple fukkin miracle.
And let me say we could use one around here after so many years of this crap. Saturdays loss took place on the 50th anniversary of the SB IV loss to the Chiefs which happened to be the first game I ever saw. Same old same old.

Remember we are selecting at 25....It would take 3 first round picks, and 3 seconds, and 3 thirds over the next 3 years to get this done. Otherwise know as...not going to happen.

We won't get Joe Burrow.
But we do have to face the fat that "being mobile" is quickly becoming a prerequisite for an NFL QB. Not any longer is it just a nice-to-have additional attribute. There is quite a supply chain of new mobile QBs who also have all the other QB requirements. I'm just not seeing how QBs like Cousins, Brady, Ryan, Brees, Rivers, etc. can continue to be employed. The mobile QB who has the great arm is causing defenses to spread their assets very thin. Plus, the mobile QB offers an entire new world of possibilities for a smart, visionary Offensive Coordinator.
Even at the lesser level of FCS... where North Dakota State currently has a young mobile QB that is at a further level than Carson Wentz was at the same age. The supply chain is really growing in this area. Along with that, building a truly athletic Offensive Line that can keep up with the new highly mobile QB is a challenge. Do the Vikings leaders have the foresight, innovation, and vision for this?

What about our 19 7th round picks? Can't we trade them?

The only chance Minnesota has at a top-tier QB in this draft is if Tua Tagovailoa falls to a position to which they could realistically move up. Even then, his recovery from his hip injury is a major concern. (I don't think the past ankle injuries are an issue going forward. The "tightrope" procedure he has now had on both ankles/legs supposedly stabilizes and improves that whole high ankle sprain situation.)
I know some people are concerned with Tua's size. But Tua is 6β²-1β³, 218 lbs and gets compared to Russell Wilson who is 5'-11", 215 lbs. Tua has elite talent and elite character, but the hip injury is certainly a concern. However, it is also the only reason the Vikings would have a prayer of drafting him.
