I know people hate Spielman, but he is not the problem. The Problem is Zimmer. A head coach needs to be a head coach not the DC. A head coaches job is to teach, game plan, evaluate talent, prepare his players, motivate them and adjust.
Zimmer I believe is an adequate to good teacher of DEF. But the rest is just not his cup of tea. Teams tend to take on a coaches personality and our coach is a loser, who plays scared, doesnβt take chances and crumbles in the biggest moments. Not only does that describe Zimmer.... it is pretty much the MO of the entire team.
Nothing is going to change until Zimmer is shown the door!

I lost all enthusiasm for Zimmer during the NFCC game against the Eagles. The last 2 years haven't changed my outlook. Zimmer, however, will be around for the next year. After that?

How soon we forget all the years of bad coaches.

I don't consider Zimmer a bad coach. I just haven't seen anything that would make me consider him becoming a coach that will make the Vikings division winners on a consistent basis, as well as Superbowl contenders.
The Superbowl window has closed for the current roster.

I donβt think the term βSuper Bowl windowβ exists anymore. Teams change so much from year to year now days.
This team still has a solid core, we do need to add some youth. We definitely need to trim the fat to create some needed cap and have a solid draft. Add a really good FA either OL or DT
I wouldnβt be opposed to trading Diggs for a 1st or even a 2 and a 3.

I think the Vikings felt they had that window in 2016-17. Probably why they burned a 1st round pick trading for Bradford when Teddy went down. A backup QB almost got them to the promise land in 2017.....but...

All this crap falls on Spielman and i'm sick of it. Rick has had his chance and it's time to move on Rick and the offensive scouts. People here say vikes havenβt addressed oL but they have (couple FAs. 1st and 3rd Rd picks, some lower picks) it just they mostly stunk. Iβm beginning to believe MN just canβt have nice things. Crazy to think itβs the Twins that will likely be the only Champion team from MN in my lifetime.

The greatest NFL coach could not have done anything more or better than Zimmer to help Cousins or that offensive line yesterday.
Getting pretty sick of everyone blaming the Zimmer. IMO those who do are very ignorant. Our talent is very over paid and OVERRATED.

I don't think Zimmer has it.

The Vikings will NOT make the playoffs next season.

Agree, they should have addressed it long before yesterday. Also agree for sure our talent is mostly over paid and OVERRATED. Who chose and paid them? If that is Rick, then it's on him to take the heat. If Zim involved, him too. What has to stop is the perpetual hot potato of no one being on the hook.

My God enough of these itβs not Zimmers fault itβs Ricks fault no itβs not Ricks fault itβs Zimmers fault thread. They both suck. Theyβve been a team for 6 years and delivered shit. Some of you people have to learn how to let go your bro crushes for these two fuckin losers.

Then the fault rests with the Wilf's. IMO they are great owners but lets not forget this is a business. They fill seats, sell licensed products everywhere and they are making profit. They have done a lot of good things in Minnesota since they have been here.
If they Wilfs believe in Zimmer and Rick then so be it, they could do much worse and its THEIR business. They have always been a good team just not a great one for many reasons. But not for the lack of trying. The Wilfs have opened the checkbook and given this team everything they wanted. They want a championship as bad as we do.
It just has not worked out. You can blame everyone from the strength and conditioning trainer to the coach to the finance manager. Its a business and my guess is profit is priority number one.
