NEWS FLASH ******* BEATING A DEAD HORSE POST Redbird Firmly believes Kwesi is on the HOT SEAT. Redbird Firmly believe Kwesi gave up TOO much to draft Turner. (I hope that clarifies things for everyone, Fkkkkkkk) I have been clear I like the player, I even like the boldness of the move to land a difference maker for a change… but yes, as I’ve thought about this more I think when you look at all the picks we gave up to get him it seems kind of high with so much Def talent left on the board. The draft is about more than getting a good player at any cost. The key is to get a great player at the right cost. Again.. I like the player. The issue is we have multiple needs and there were a lot of high end talents sitting there we didn’t have to trade away a huge portion of our next two drafts to get. So I’m simply questioning the urgency to have made this move at such a high cost. Sorry that you have such a problem with anyone that questions the all knowing Kwesi. I still give him a good overall grade and thought he handled the McCarthy situation extremely well. But I think it’s fair game to question the cost of the trade up when so much talent at position of need remained and the guy we picked is still kind of a raw player.

You obviously don't value Turner as much as the Vikings staff did. They must have put considerable space between him and the "just stay put" options. Does that make you right? These players are more than just a slot on some stupid, subjective chart. If the Vikings valued Turner as a Top 5 player, then they likely got a deal.

I wasn’t bashing the guy, I’m just simply raising the question for debate if people thought the player was truly worth the cost. Kwesi obviously did but he hasn’t exactly earned the right to not have his draft judgement challenged. if the video is to be believed O’Connel didn’t have a clue. It would be interesting to know what O’Connell actually thought after he learned the cost. I hope the guy turns into a stud, but regardless I think it’s fair game to question the cost to take him and get people’s opinions. I’m not the only poster here who probably questions the cost.

Interesting Bill Belichick had Turner #8 overall in his predraft rankings and McCarthy #17.

We cannot know if the trade us worth it at this point in time. Arguing such matters is an exercise in wasted time. If the guy (Turner) turns out to be another Hunter its a win. We simply don't know and all these gymnastics over the subject is nothing but wasted banter.

To be honest, in this case I'd more interested in Flores' opinion than KOC's. But I'm sure they had all those discussions about player fit/value before draft day. I didn't see the video. Did KOC actually say something or could his reaction have been surprise that they were actually able to make that deal and add a player they didn't think they had a chance of getting?

To me the video looked like Everybody Wanted him but they didn't think they could get him.
KOC reacted like it was a great surprise and I have No idea if he knew the trade parameters.
Maybe later KOC cursed and cried and said 'Damn you to hell Kwesi'. It is like the How many licks Tootsie Roll question. The World may never know.

KOC had a look as if he didn't think the trade was going to happen. JMO....

I didn’t say he was deflecting blame. I didn’t say or infer he was deflecting Blame. Just find it unusual you’d get rid of so many day 2 mid round picks if you think you’ve stepped up the scouting department with “your” guys. This draft is lacking severely after pick 100. I heard that it had 75 fewer underclassman declare than a normal draft. So those mid round picks this year were worth even less than normal. Of Course that means the 4th and 3rd they gave up next year probably will have more value than a normal draft year.

The NIL in college football will make it more attractive for underclassmen to return to school rather than go pro.

/mediaViewer?currentTweet=1783961216865485297¤tTweetUser=AlexMicheletti One of all time favorite NFL moments was when he mocked out the skol chant right before the Diggs TD and then seeing his face afterwards. First of all, do not believe that he wasn't trying to trade up, 2nd of all he was an idiot if he wasn't and 3rd of all the Raiders were most likely trying to trade up as well. Also, he is such a moron, cause who was he helping, the Jets are in his conference, so would have only been helping the team that would make less sense too. Just when you think he couldn't be a more classless, ignorant tool he opens his mind and proves he is so much more.

A lot of anaysts said the Grades varied so much on players after the Top 50 that it really became a 'who do you like now' draft. Said picks would be all over the board with a high risk of panning out.
I had Dallas Turner high enough that I don't care if it was a talent rich draft.
