The Vikings traded up to 17 and are taking Alabama OLB Dallas Turner.

Both these picks are guys that were worth moving up for, IMO. A top 10 talent we were able to get at 17 plus the QB of the future. Hard to be mad about either one. Turner will be a monster with Flores coaching him up

OMG!!!!!Β Β Someone count the trade points and make sure this meets 'I have a stick stuck up my ass' approval.Β Β I'll bite. We currently only have 3 selections in the 2025 draft - one 1st and two 5ths. The Texans have our 2nd, the Jaguars have our 3rd and 4th, and I don't know what happened to our 6th and 7th.

Ok Iβll bite back - we project to have potentially the most cap space in the league next year. I know we have to sign JJ and then Darrisaw - the players they liked were there we made the moves kept our first next year and can fill holes in free agency next year.

Turner hits they will have like 5 possible blue chip players 25 or under not counting the QBotF. All the sudden they now are looking like a strong roster moving forward as a base.

I don't follow the college game closely so I can't say much about Turner. However he really makes the pass rush of the team a strong point now. It is great to come out of tonight with an extra elite player for the defensive side of the ball.
We have to keep up with the Bears.

Based on the 2023 draft and many of Rick Spielmans drafts, having more picks didn't mean a whole hell of a lot.
Rams went 7 years without a first round pick. In that time they won a Super Bowl, played for another and have been in the playoffs. I'll take that every day of the week rather than hoarding up a ton of mid and late round picks to go .500

Yeah, like people were discussing trading 4 1's this week at one point for a QB and instead got a QB and somehow a guy that was roundly considered the best defensive player in this draft.

The one we trade down and wasted picks on Cine and Booth and numerous others. 2023 draft has been pretty solid so far.

Yes, at this current moment, but the Vikings will probably get a 2025 3rd round compensatory pick.
