Your memory must suck then because When we were searching for GMΓ’ΒΒs and HC, I was extremely clear I wanted KAM and KOC. I was Ok with JH when that developed but KZoC was always the guy I wanted as coach and I was 100% in the KAM camp as I liked the teams heΓ’ΒΒd come from, I thought he was smart and his analytic background and experience in player personnel would benefit us more than Poles. And IΓ’ΒΒve repeatedly stated he was always the guy I wanted. It would behoove me more to defend him than criticize him, but IΓ’ΒΒm not afraid to admit I probably got it wrong. And itΓ’ΒΒs not just Γ’ΒΒsome journalistΓ’ΒΒΓ’ΒΒ¦itΓ’ΒΒs Dianna Rossini who is one of the most connected and respected NFL journalists out there and what she writes is damn near considered gospel. Even Π―etarded Π―andy β’ did a segment this afternoon about it stating when she speaks NFL people listen. He goes on to state he thinks Kwesi should get 3 full years but fully acknowledges that the fact she dropped Kwesi as the GM most on the hot seat should put everyone on notice. So I donΓ’ΒΒt think itΓ’ΒΒs smoke or some random article. ItΓ’ΒΒs coming from one of the best in the bus. And as to getting fleeced, I think it boils down to if the WilfΓ’ΒΒs think he gave up too much. He needs to have a really good offseason. So far itΓ’ΒΒs been a mixed bag. FA has been decent, the trade up to 23 I think gave us a lot of flex but he he likely canΓ’ΒΒt afford more screwups. I still think thereΓ’ΒΒs a good chance he stays at 11 and that may prove the best move for his career. such a huge Vikings fan, now your posts are transitioning to Runes?

First draft with his scouts and not Rick's... I think the scouts from the Rick regime are mostly still there.

Sorry if I hurt peopleβs feelings saying Kwesi is supposedly on the hot seat, by posting a relative news item from a highly respected source. After going back an re-reading her article, while his drafts have been a mixed bag, and heβs made some questionable FA moves like Lowry and Davenportβ¦I think for him to be on the hot seat this fast in his tenure and for the news to break now, I think (purely my spec) the handling of the Cousins situation was maybe the straw that put the Wilfs on edge. Cousinβs departure I donβt think was as popular with the Wilfβs as with many on this board especially given KOC being vocal about wanting him back.
To be clear, Iβm not suggesting the Wilfβs thought he should match Atl offer, but Kwesi had the chance to lock down Kirk a year ago at a fraction of the price and the Wilfβs may think it should never have reached this point. Nobody knows what was said/discussed behind closed doors but I donβt think the Wilfβs were thrilled when Kirk cleaned out his locker, with no in house solution and us not sitting in a position to control our ability to land a top QB. Mix in now that Kwesi is having a hard time extending Jefferson and I can understand where the Wilfs could be concerned. Every contract negotiation with Kwesi to date has been labored or unsuccessful all together but the Cousin situation left them with nothing at the most important position AND could cost them their best young talent.
Anyway, I am pulling for a great day today, but I think her article probably has more legs than people think.

Back to back losing seasons and his seat will be as hot as KOC's. All comes down to nailing this draft. No one is going to give a shit about what happened in the 2023 draft if he drops the ball getting a QB or hangs on to these two firsts and doesn't absolutely nail it with both of them. The is the NFL in 2024, its not like it was 15-20 years ago where everybody gets 5 years to prove they can't do the job before getting fired. The Wilfs gave a lot of freedom for Spielman to fail as he continuously missed at QB with Ponder, Cassel, Bridgewater, Bradford and Keenum at QB. And I am sure they learned from that mistake.

First draft with his scouts and not Rick's... This is seldom mentioned and it's huge. Not just the change in personnel, but the change infocus because the previous scouts looked at players with the RS/MZ systems as a framework while the new personnel will look at them with KAM/KOC (and BF) systems as the framework. It's one of the major changes for this year.

Some posters just need to make it all about themselves. Anyone can find an article somewhere with some jamoke's opinion being similar to theirs. Has Kwesi been perfect? No. First draft was not so good. Second draft was better. This draft will put any GM in the Vikes' position on the hot seat as the right QB must be chosen or it will have long term effects on the organization. Goes without saying but if you want me to feel bad for poor Redzy that your long winded takes aren't loved by all, then I'll say it. Poor Redzy. The Vikes will be in great shape cap wise after year three of his reign. I donβt complain just to complainβ¦ I call it as I see them. And my point is my views appear to be shared by the Vikings brass which means my concerns are justified by the people in the know. Other than a few on this board wearing purple sunglasses, most realize Kwesi has largely been a disappointment thus far. Again, itβs not been all badβ¦ but heβs looked mostly over his head from the get go in multiple facets of the job. You call them as you see them? Would you like me to recommend a good optometrist?
