I know there has been a lot of speculation about us trying to trade up to 5 for the Chargers pick if one of the top 4 QBβs remain. Anyone have any concerns that Jimbo may totally screw us based on the fact we didnβt hire him? He strikes me as a guy that kinda holds a grudge!
Nobody has really raised that concern that Iβve seen but something to think about. Iβd be less concerned if JJ was in the board because I think he wants him to do well and knows Minn would be a good landing placeβ¦. But if itβs any of the other 3 I could see him totally flipping us the bird and laughing at leaving us screwed.

If we get screwed over by moving up to 5, that's on Kwesie. I'm sure Harbaugh and the Chargers are going to try to get the most they can out of that pick and I don't blame them. I think there could be a chance Harbaugh refuses to trade with us because of the prior situation.

I really hope we don't participate in the trade-up competition for the top 4...doesn't seem to work out very often and the price tends to be way too high.
If one of the top 4 slides to 11 then take them...otherwise target the next tier at 23.

Fair, however, if AZ wants to take our offer and still try to get Marvin Harrison, Jr., they can package the 11th pick and a later round pick to move back up to 6 if that's the spot they want to be, all the while maintaining that coveted 23rd pick. Especially if it's trading with the Giants, who then would have missed out on the top 4 QBs potentially and wouldn't mind moving back to 11 to get their QB, if that's their path for better value.

<takes drag. makes Elon face.>
Perhaps after Harbaugh trades the pick to the Vikings, LA media will be upset that 5 months of holding the #5 pick culminated into some other team generating the biggest story of the draft via a personal win for their new coach getting "his guy" drafted high and a shittier player for the home team...

That's all well and good, but consider that the Vikings have never drafted a QB in the top 10 let alone the top 5 since their inception and how has that worked out. I'm for doing something different and taking a chance.

He went back to Michigan and won a national championship then got hired by the Chargers and was able to go back to coaching in California where he spent most iof his career before Michigan. Probably got more money from SD than the Vikings. I don't think Jim spends anytime thinking about the Vikings job.

Kwesi is Ozymandias, King of Kings; Look on my Works, ye Mighty GMs, and despair? FFS, stop with the constant Kwesi bashing. He's stiil the Viking GM, no less but NO MORE either. The other GMs don't give two shits what happens to the Vikings. They have their own teams to worry about and make their decisions accordingly no matter what KAM offers or tries to do. It still and always will take two to trade.
