IIRC the 6th pick = 1 2024 1st rounder<2 2024 1st rounders. Of course the Giants would need to add more to the pot, but it could be appealing to drop only two spots if they have a specific target in mind. True, but what do the Giants have that trumps another pick only 17 picks later? 2nd or 3rd rounders, or picks next year valued at 2nd rounders or later? I think it would get very expensive to move up only 2 spots.

I know there has been a lot of speculation about us trying to trade up to 5 for the Chargers pick if one of the top 4 QBβs remain. Anyone have any concerns that Jimbo may totally screw us based on the fact we didnβt hire him? He strikes me as a guy that kinda holds a grudge! Nobody has really raised that concern that Iβve seen but something to think about. Iβd be less concerned if JJ was in the board because I think he wants him to do well and knows Minn would be a good landing placeβ¦. But if itβs any of the other 3 I could see him totally flipping us the bird and laughing at leaving us screwed. So upset he invited Kwes and the personnel department to Thursday practices and a game this past season. I actually think Jim would not mind facilitating a trade for McCarthy in particular to go to a good situation. And yes Jim got direct say in decisions when he took the job.

That's good to note and maybe he really likes Kwesi. But for a guy like him, I think the Vikings not even making an offer had to be a blow to his ego. I do think he has an interest in promoting his players and finding them good landing spots and that is why I said if JJ was on the board I think the deal is more likely. But maybe he and Kwesi are much closer than we anticipated and that keeps things good between the two.

Iβm concerned about the Bears @ pick 9 Why? There will still be elite talent at edge, WR, and OL at their pick and they could go any of those directions. I doubt they trade out of Verse or Turner.

Iβm concerned about the Bears @ pick 9 Iβve seen mock drafts that have the Bears taking wide receiver Odunze at pick nine to pair with rookie quarterback Williams.

Or else, itβs defense at pick 11 and then Nix or Penix Jr. at pick 23.

At this point I wouldn't be surprised to see 6 quarterbacks go in the first 13 picks of the first round.

At this point I wouldn't be surprised to see 6 quarterbacks go in the first 13 picks of the first round. I think this could very likely happen. There are 7 teams in the top 13 looking for a quarterback, I think none want to be the team without when everything settles.

I think the worst thing for the Vikings is if a teams trades up with the Cardinals instead of them taking Marvin Harrison. A team trading up to 4 for a QB is what will start the run on QBs/panic teams into offering the farm to not be the team left out. So much game theory too. If the Vikings don't trade up to 5 or 6, the Broncos are likely trading with the bears to spot 9 to take the guy we otherwise would've wanted

If that many teams want to reach for QB in front of 11, I hope we trade back to late teens for a 2nd and take two great players with our 1sts, take Rattler in the 2nd and if he doesnβt work out go QB in 25 when far fewer teams are vying for QB. I actually wouldnβt mind Rattlers in the 2nd. Heβs a gamer and a gunslinger, just needs to be a bit more consistent and dial back some of the risk taking. But heβs def a pocket passer (isnβt going to wow anyone with his 40 time) and has as much arm talent as any QB in this draft aside from Williams. Would need to be coached up a bit more on pre snap reads tho. But those things can be taught (usually!)

I really hope we don't participate in the trade-up competition for the top 4...doesn't seem to work out very often and the price tends to be way too high. If one of the top 4 slides to 11 then take them...otherwise target the next tier at 23.Β Β This has been my take the whole time. We miss out on top 4 you canβt trade up. Take BPA at 11 and other qb later

I would like to know if Sam Darnold has had a chance to work out with our WR's since we picked him up? We heard that JJ and the coaching staff have been talking about the QB slot, and that Hall has been working his butt off in the pre-season. IS; it possible that Darnold has finally turned the corner; or is it just hopeful thinking? If he has; then moving up would be a total waste. We could do a lot of good rebuilding this team with the picks we've got. I sure hope the hell they know what they've got on board now. O'Connel sounded like, he thought/thinks; that Darnold may have just turned the corner on his career. But we are still looking hard at these QB's coming out this year; so this is the best smoke screen ever, or this is a ha ha on us. Because if teams can scare/force other teams that are QB starved to move up, and allow top 10 picks to fall; its quite a strategy. This is the year for this staff to show their intelligence, or what an easy play we are for other teams. If the latter is the case; there's going to be another turn over next year in the coaching staff, and GM; or just GM.

I doubt he will be. If we get the chance for top 4 qb in this draft we pull the trigger, otherwise we can go for it.
