He gets out physicalled at the point of the catch. Heβs not going to win many contested catches and had multiple catches turned incompletion because he wasnβt strong enough to hold the catch to completion because the defender was able to rip it out. With as slight as his frame is, I just donβt see him gaining a ton of strengthβ¦ itβs just how heβs built.
I agree with Roo β¦ heβs a high 2 at best whether JJ is here or not.

There is nothing to support that. As a rookie that played with 4 different QB's, of varying quality, and his 65% catch rate is in-line with plenty of established #1 WR's like Diggs, JJ, Hill, Adams, Chase and Kupp and the same as Puka Nacua. I'm sure as he gets more experience in the NFL and consistency at the QB position he will continue to only get more efficient. *Edit - I will say he missed a few balls he should have had; but, those were a product of concentration and looking upfield than a DB making a play.

Yes after he lost a ball earlier in the same game to a CB letting the CB rip it away. He had several catches that should have been completions during the year that would up incompletions because he couldnβt posses the ball through completion because the CB overpowered him.
Sorryβ¦ heβs an outstanding route runner, but at 175lbs he doesnβt have the size and strength to consistently win contested balls and # 1 Receivers have to be able to do that.

Red is just making stuff up again and pretending to be a 'scout' hoping some of the sheet he spouts will stick.
Pretending to know a rookies 'ceiling' is an obvious tip off. LOL! Ridiculous.

Same 49rs game he fights through a major defensive hold, continues his route and makes a catch. BTW DBs are paid professionals too.
The kid had 70 catches, 900 yards, 10 tds as a rookie and we have guys saying what he wonβt be able to do and what his ceiling is. LOL
Yeah, heβs not JJ, but no one in the NFL is.

Rather than pretend we know a players ceiling I believe it is better to watch him develop.
Watch and see what they put into the craft, watch how much dedication they have. Try and measure the determination and want.
Of Note Jordan Addison has been working out this offseason at JLT Performance Gym in LA. Being reported that he is working to put good weight on, strengthen himself to up his game further off an outstanding rookie campaign.
This one is going to be fun. Addison is already one of the elite route runners in the game and he is dedicated to take his game to the next level.

and obviously we know what Pace Jrs ceiling is as well Right??? We all know he is kind of short maybe even a little light for the position. His performance scores are not going to WOW anyone right? So we must know his ceiling. I think his ceiling was thought to be pretty low because nobody drafted him. Then he signing an nfl contract. Ceiling??? Then he ends up winning the starting spot. must be the ceiing??? Then he ends up wearing the green dot??? good lord, has to be his ceiling. Named to All rookie team? ? Definetely ceiling? Or maybe not. LMAO. To think for a moment that a rookie who relies mostly on his tremendous instincts and tenacity will NOT improve after his rookie campaign as he learns a full understanding of NFL offenses is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard. Kind of makes you wonder if Pace Jr. could end up more like a couple other guys that nobody really thought could be great. Sam Mills and John Randle. A couple guys that I don't think ever considered themselves as having a fk'n 'ceiing.'

That is good to read regarding JA. Like all rookies, he will benefit from gaining strength. I donβt recall ever reading a rookie profile that stated they wonβt benefit from gaining strength. Iβm also a bit curious about how many real #1 WRs posters believe there are in the entire NFL. There ainβt 32 of them, thatβs for sure. Stating some rookie will never be a #1 WR may not exactly be sticking your neck out too far. When Treadwell couldnβt even see the field as a rookie we kept reading βit takes 2-3 years for a WR to developβ. Now when 1 shows a hell of a lot of promise, we read what his ceiling is and what he will never be after his rookie year. Crazy stuff.

Smith is not in the same class as Lamb or Waddle. Addison is similar to Smith and both are probably best set to be top end #2's. Truth to what you say though and Diggs was more talented then Adam, but had to go to Buffalo to become a perennial pro bowler. It is not normal to have a Moss and CC on the same team that's talents can co-exist like that. With today's rulebook where CB's can't really touch a WR... "WR strength/size" is really an outdated platitude. Smith is not even the best WR on his own team. He is good and so is Addison, but neither are ever going to be dominant #1 WR's like their teammates are.

I like Addison and think he will be good, but he makes some easy drops and that is probably not changing. Might be what holds him back from being great (All Pro type). I think he is knocking on the door of being top 20 type talent at his position and that is not bad. Top end #2, but not sure he will ever be a top end #1? That is not to say he couldn't be a functional #1 on a team, but I doubt he will ever be a top #1 option.

The playcalling doesn't help. We run way too many bubble screens to Addison's side and then make him block for a TE or another WR. He usually gets blown up right into the ballcarrier and we're looking at a loss of 1 or 2 yards.
Addison is a very talented player but he has physical limitations and we're not doing him any favors on those plays. It's like asking Powell to be the tush pusher.

Heβs very talented and Iβm glad we have him, but I think top 20 is his ceiling. He just does not have the physical build to dominate and All Pro WR can do that. Iβm glad heβs getting stronger, but I think his body type limits his ceiling. I adjusted my take on Pace a bit if you took the time to ever read something objectively, but I still see him in the same light as Kendricks. Pace is an instinctual and effort driven player who will most likely turn out to be a very good player for a long time. But, like Kendricks, Iβm not sure he has the combination or size and speed it takes to become dominant at his positionβ¦.but itβs a possibility. And yes Taz β¦. I just make shit up all the time. Whereβs your cousin Doug been lately! Youβve become the βnastyβ version of Doug on the board. I love the optimism, but sometimes you gotta live in reality just a touch.

Sorry if I hurt your feeling Red but you mostly spin sheet on this board and it wears thin.
Like someone mentioned the other day it seems like you don't even like Viking players.
It gets old. Even when a player has a great fkn rookie year you take it upon yourself to pretend you know what his ceiling is.
Make sure you guys keep your bets safe. Vikeroo now has Addison as a possible Top 20. Fcccckkk! But not a true great #1. So now we are at he is going to be really, really good, but..........
