OPTION 1 Trade #11,#23 and 2025 1st round to move up to #4 and draft either Maye or JJM
Or
OPTION 2 #11 pick OT Fashanu or DE Latu or DE Verse or TE Bowers or WR Nabers. Potentially the top ranked players on the board.
#23 Nix or Pennix
Keep 2025 1st round pick.
I'm in the option #2 camp.

Nix and pennix are 2nd or 3rd rounders in my book.

If i did not go QB at 11 then I would like to see Jackson-Powers or Byron Murphy Jr. be the pick as the best fits for Vikings needs.
I don't believe Penix will last until the 2nd. Plus if they go that route Vikes do not have a second and would be risky to trade back.

Mitchell or Murphy at #11 I think too early for Latu and bigger need for the CB and IDL. Doesn't matter as I think they can trade up.

It's going to be option 1 or something close to it. They acquired pick 23 so they have ammunition to move up for a quarterback.

The Vikings are already set at OT.
The 2024 off-season is all about finding their QB of the future, so I think a trade up in the 1st round is very likely.

Nix is not getting past Denver and Penix is likely to not make it to 23 as well. We didn't trade to get another first, not sign Kirk and sign an abundance of FAs to stay at 23 and wait to see if someone falls to us, we are moving up or taking a QB at 11.

Injury history is going to kill Penix. Taking him at 23 would be over drafting him.

Injury history is going to kill Penix. Taking him at 23 would be over drafting him. Two ACLs is going to be tough to overcome. Penix has made some spectacular plays and he's had a strong college career, but one game has created doubts for me. Probably not fair for one game to do it, but his last game as a college player was ugly and revealed real holes in his game, to me, at least. Of course, I'm not selecting, so there's that.

The hole is his game is he's not accurate while under pressure and he doesn't throw over the middle. Many NFL QB's are not accurate under pressure but you got to be able to throw over the middle.

My view is that KAM doesn't want to trade our 2025 1st which takes the #3 pick off the table. You don't need the 2025 1st to get to 4.
I think we trade 11 and 23 plus a 4th to the Cards for the #4 pick and their 3rd rd pick.
We take either Mayr or JJM depending on who the team with 3rd pick passes on.

I hope it doesn't also take next year's first to move up to draft a QB but if it does you'd certainly think it could get them to #3 instead of #4. Hopefully they can get their guy at #4 or #5 for "just" the two 2023 firsts. I also think it is funny that people interpret the Vikings moving up to 23 as a sure sign that they are moving up to top five get a QB. It seems likely, but why is it certain that the top teams would prefer 11 & 23 over 11, 42, next year's 2nd, and change... then allowing that team to make whatever trades they want to move up during the draft, if desired? The Patriots, Cardinals, or Chargers certainly could have told them it would take at least two 2023 firsts but why is that better than the equivalent value?

Option 1 looking like a real possibility that it does not exist. If Giants decide to move up from 6, we'll have a hard time putting a package that can beat them. Arizona can move back 2 spots get the WR they wanted all along and get additional picks from Giants. We had no chance last year going far in the playoffs and knew we had to find a new franchise QB that just so happened to be a good year to draft one of the top ones. Now we may just miss that window of opportunity. Don't want to empty the bank on QB with risks.
