McCarthy makes me nervous but probably most realistic as I think Pats will want a ridiculous amount for pick #3. Regardless, even if McCarthy is the guy and heβs a bust itβll be nice to finally see the Vikings take a swing to find a franchise guy again. Makes me nervouos too, but then, they all do really. He seems like he has the intangibles of a leader. He's pretty good with ball placement typically. Have heard/read he needs to figure out when to rocket the ball and when to apply touch better, but if he's accurate you can teach that piece I'd think. Any QB is set up to succeed as we are pretty well set up on offense so just don't F it up and throw a bunch of picks. I really do think Darnold has the job for much of the year and depending on how things play out whomever we draft can sit and learn for a bit. We've not employed this strategy, well, at least not well in the last 20+ years. GB has done a pretty good job of setting up their QB's to succeed for multiple years now. Granted, they have had some pretty good ones. I'm ready for the draft asap.

Funny thing JJM might have the least amount of question marks. Daniels and Maye both are bad under pressure. Less effective in passing situations like 3rd and long. Did not play the hardest schedule of the 4 last year. Did not play in pro style offenses. The bigget question mark with Daniels is if he can function in an NFL offense and if his team will create an offense for him to be his most effective in like a Ravens or Eagles plan with their QB's. Maye has huge upside, but he was less efficient by almost every measure except clean pocket plays. Actually could be argued Daniels has a question mark because he played with the best group of WR's by a long shot of the lot (Think LSU has 2 guys projected to be 1st rd next year at WR). Question mark on JJM is that he played in an offense that did not ask him to throw high volume even though his 3rd year stats were better then Daniels. I am fine with any of the 3, but it is funny how the goal line keeps moving for you guys. First it was weak arm and to small and he is bigger surprise surprise then his recruited weight and threw 61 MPH ball. In many ways JJM is the safest pick of the 3 and they all have the same big question of if they can translate to the NFL game. JJM is the quickest decision maker and best under pressure of the 3. Maye has super hero type talent. Daniels can run like the wind and throws a nice deep ball. Daniels has the weakest arm of the 3 and freezes under pressure. Maye has decision making issues and trouble under pressure. JJM did not play in a high volume passing offense. I would add that JJM's arm power of 61 MPH at the combine was interesting to note. I also see a little Russel Wilson in Bo Nix's game. i don't love that he's 24 though. Maye kind of worries me a bit. I think he also has some incredible potential and things that can be fixed in the NFl and with better WRs, but his reads are just not that great, based on what I have seen from him...he seems all over the place more often than not. People complained out Cousins in the pocket, well, Maye doesn't feel the pocket well at all, IMO and that is worrisome. Yes, he can run, but he's mechanically off. His game reminds me of Herbert. I don't know what it is about Penix, but I just don't see it...he reminds me of a left-handed Akili Smith and that scares me. I also don't love that he'll be 24. IMO, JJM and Maye might be the best fits for the Vikings. I like the comparison from Fran who said JJM is like a more athletic Drew Brees. Why the concern if they are 24? If he played till he was 35 that would be 10+ years. That would be longer than any other starting QB the Vikings ever had that started consecutive years. Get a great young QB I do not care what his age is!

Being more of a finished product so to speak, harder to compare the other guys stats in year 4 to 6 to JJM and Maye who only had 3 years of development. And if they take 2 to 3 years to develop they are already late 20's. JJM and Maye have been better then any of the other top 6 by 20 except Caleb. Both Nix and Penix built their entire resume 23+. I like Penix, but I am not even sure there are 10 years of QB'ing in him.

Watch this video. Best breakdown I have seen of JJM, even if it's over one game. It was said in the video, but he shines in big moments and has tools in his arsenal we maybe haven't seen yet.

There has to be gamesmanship in some of these visits and Non-visits! Trying smokescreens to get positions less predictable in the draft.
Draft picks vs. mocks tend to be all over the map with none hitting it 100%.

It was already reported earlier this week the KOC and KAM would be hosting their own private workout with McCarthy.

Also from Brian Daboll to @tompelissero : No guarantee Daniel Jones will be ready Week 1 but βwhen he gets back, heβll be the guyβ for the #Giants.
