If we're going to over draft then let it be Nix's or Penix at #11, and then take a OT or DT at #23, or move down from #23 and get a 2nd and a possible 3rd. LOL they just traded up to 23 You want them trade down with that pick now? Well you would do it during the draft. So you would know who got at 11 and who was left. So not as crazy as you made it out it be.

I would rather stay at #11 then make that move. My argument against standing pat and not trading up into the top 5 for a qb is ...The Vikings have never done this in their history and where has that got them. Take the chance.

Daredevil is correct. It is all just conjecture and opinion. I started the thread just to get ideas and opinions.
Maybe we draft C or DT at 11 and Penix at 23 and roll with Darnold.
My guess is KAM moved up to 23 to open up more options on draft day. Seems to me it opens up Way more options.
Maye would probably take dealing 11, 23, next years first to NE.
McCarthy might take moving 11 and 23 to Chargers.
If neither option opens up we could go Penix at 23 and have a pick of Verse or Jackson Powers.
If Penix is gone maybe we roll with Darnold and pick up Murphy Jr at 23.

I only see this early move to get 23 as making sense if they determined they were not going to give up the 25 first in a trade. They donβt want a Panthers/Bears scenario to bite them in the ass.

I donβt see that. Even if Darnold has to play 17 games, this team has enough talent to win 7-8 games. Assuming they donβt trade JJ.

Arizona wants MHJr. and likely will not move.

The Bears, Commanders and Patriots are going to stay put at picks 1-2-3. Giants will trade their pick at 6 to the Cardinals so they can move up to number 4. Then, the first four picks will be quarterbacks. Vikings will stay at 11 and get a top defensive player. Broncos and Raiders will snatch up Nix and Penix. Vikings can settle for Rattler or wait until the 2025 draft to get their quarterback of the future.

Since all top-3 need QB (to the extent they are building rosters around it happening), and what seems like a clear tier between those 3 and JJM, I think it takes an unprecedented package to get up, more than 11+23+2025 1st. There is also one of those 3 that the Vikings donβt like as much. I bet they wait to see if that guy is there at 3 and then pay whatever it takes, which, by draft chart standards is going to seem like we got fleeced. No there really is not a clear tier difference between JJM and the other 2. If anything seems like Maye might be the one that drops out of the top 3.

I think people keep forgetting Marv Jr is the best prospect in this class and if it were not QB rich he would go top 2 normally. I think the Cards want him and suspect they will not move off that pick. Normally teams will even trade into the top 3 for a guy like Marv Jr.
