Honorable Mention goes out to Gator1 (30-25 Vikings) and jarheadvikesfan (27-24 Vikings), both off by only 4 points. The Vikings (4-1) travel to Miami to take on the Dolphins (3-2) this Sunday. Kickoff is set for Noon CST and the game will be carried on Fox. The Vikings offense came out on fire against the Bears with Kirk Cousins completing his first 17 passes of the game. To me, this looked like the Vikings offense I was hoping to see under the direction of KOC. The Vikings were leading 21-3 and then it hit. The lull that always seems to show up when the Vikings get things rolling. Then the soft defense starts to give up 8 yards per play and the next thing you know it's down to a one score game. The Vikings kicker misses a field goal and has another one blocked, the Bears start to feel themselves on offense as they march down the field to score the go-ahead touchdown in the 4th quarter. These are the types of games that the Vikings seemed to lose quite often last season. Fortunately, these Vikings have shown the fortitude to fight back after losing a lead and have found ways to win games, rather than finding ways to lose them. The Vikings are still a work in progress. Let's see what they can become.
The Dolphins have lost two games in a row as they have had some injury concerns with their quarterbacks. Tua has been out with a serious concussion and his backup, Teddy Bridgewater, went out this past weekend with a concussion so their QB situation for Week 6 is up in the air. The NY Jets were able to run the ball pretty well against the Miami defense so hopefully the Vikings can do the same.
The Vikings continue to win ugly.
Vikings 27
Dolphins 26
