DT Harrison Phillips just put C Garrett Bradbury on the ground with a power rush. β’The drills at the start of the day taught us that the 1st team guards look strong, our tackles look good but Hunter and Smith look better, and Bradbury may as well be a traffic cone. This should be concerning, but I guess after watching it for 3 years in a row you'd have to be a fool to expect anything else. My question since day 1 of the new regime has been why they assumed that Bradbury was worth keeping as starting C, and why they didn't bring in any viable competition for the job. As for someone else's earlier comment about C never needing to block one on one because of scheme, I call BS. Every team out there knows that Bradbury is nothing more than a windmill against a bull rush, and scheme won't make up for that.

Zimmer was right about Mond. Will be interesting to see who the new regime drafts next year. Zimmer was mad they drafted a QB. He was fighting for his job and wanted draft picks on guys that could contribute immediately. He never gave Mond a chance. We basically wasted a year in developing a young QB. Mond comes in this year with new system and couch. He is like a rookie QB just coming into the league. Sure cannot expect too much out of him for some time or know what we got in him.

Because he is guaranteed all his money, has no trade market, and they probably felt it was worth trying to work with him. Still have a month or so to figure him out and make a move if they feel they need to. People talk about weight, but there are tons of C his size around the league. Think he just has a weak base. Probably hard for them as he works hard and handles the mental part of the game well. RG is where they set all the focus chasing a couple big ticket guys, signing a couple low level vets, and using solid draft capital at the spot.

The rest of camp won't even be a tell if he holds up to power bull rushers. The 49ers coming over have no DL bigger than Tomlinson, most of their guys are light.
Roo is right as are many b4 here on the size part - hardly any C are alot bigger in the league. The SF guy is listed at 299 and they have a nice blocking scheme.
I've heard about DL over the years utilizing martial arts to master moves and leverage in getting by a blocker. Why not these interior OL guys? They pass off the rusher to a linemate or they need to hit one and get to the next level downfield on runs/screens.

Just have to ask, Is the couch for watching film or for game day?
