Sano hits an a flyball that would be routine out anywhere else that only goes into the 2 row in right field to hit an opposite field lead off HR.
Doesn't anybody else on this site care about the Twins??Β Β Come on guys (and gals) the Vikes don't play until Sunday.Β The Twins have a good enough team to make the WS.

Tanaka has been hot and cold all year. Youβll know early. If the sinker isnβt sinking the Twins could feast early which they have to do. It will be a short series if games go to the bullpen early with a close score.

I watch the games on TV, don't check in to boards 'till next morning.
The Twins used 3 rookie relievers in the game (Who weren't even on the roster at the start of the season). I guess one could have predicted it would be sort of bumpy.

The pitch chart on Tanaka and how held the Twins at bay in the article below tells the story for both games this series.
The Twins have been swinging at bad pitches mainly low and outside the zone even in the dirt. The Yanks, OTOH, have been patient and disciplined at the plate and make the pitcher come to them.

Welp that's it. Thanks for getting starting pitching at the deadline Pohlads. We could have traded the injured Buxton for the stud from the Mets. What a wasted 101-61, 307 recording setting home run season. We look like a high school team out there. It looks like we don't even belong.

Twins have left 1 runner on in the 1st, bases loaded no outs and couldn't get anyone in, 2 on in the 3rd and 2 more in the 5th. They just buy a run.
In the meantime, Odorizzi pitched great but for 1 mistake resulting in a HR in the 1st. 2nd run was due to Cave in left diving for a ball he couldn't possibly get to resulting in a lead off double and the Yanks played small ball and got the run.
Now, down 2-0 in the 6th, Baldelli brings in Rogers?? Rogers can't go 4 innings and if the Twins by some miracle the Twins tie or get the lead, who's going to be the closer?  |

Twins FINALLY score on a lead off HR by Rosario to dead center. 3-1. 8th but now Chapman now in for the Yanks to close it out.

Yeah Jake Cave sucks in the outfield and isn't that good of a hitter either. Jake O only had 82 pitches, didn't understand the move either. Then the closer first out of the pen?
Bottom line, we better keep Jake O. So we will have Jake and Jose. After that we better sign 2 great pitchers or we are going no where next year. If Gibson or Perez are on the opening day roster, the Twins don't want to win baseball games.
101-61, 40 over .500 and 307 homers, and swept again by the Yankees. Only team swept in the divisional round. I hate the Yankees more than the Packers.
