I may be misreading the link, but Sloter sounds a bit whiny and immature to me, which I think is unfortunate, because he seems to play much better when the lights go on. In this league, you have to win more reps, not expect them to be handed to you.

Sloter has done nothing at camp to show the staff he belongs in the NFL. Waste of talent. Mannion beats him out easily.

If Sloter doesn't do much in preseason, I could see the Vikings going with 2 QB's. Would rather have a player that could help us at depth at another position. We could still put Browning on PS. Sounds like he is doing ok. In the past, I thought we always go with 3 QB's, but maybe not this year. Thoughts?

If sloter isnβt the backup, I donβt see much point in keeping him around another year. Not going to get anything in a trade, even when the injury bug bites some team. Also, if cousins goes down, third string level qbs are a nickel for twenty even during the season. Keep an extra lineman around, IMO. Wouldβve been nice to have a Colby gossett etc. last year.

I am a Sloter FAN. However, if he has a whiny attitude and shows not much effort, then forget him. Is he weaseling his way out to return to Denver?

I think they are trying to pressure him and see if he steps up... If they go into the season with Mannion as the backup I will be disappointed to say the least... Basically be saying they have no interest in trying to win if Cousins gets injured for any length of time...

All I read he is he was going to keep competing for the job even if they name someone else the backup and that he does his best work in games... Did I miss saomething?

I thought he was also quoted as saying that he hadn't "been given enough reps." I may have been misinterpreting his comment, but to me, that sounded like a kid complaining about the situation not being fair.

I had high hopes for Sloter because he seems to be such a gamer. But the bottom line is if you can't show it on the practice field you want get a chance to show it in games.

So far I like Kyle Sloter over mannion. Sloter reminds me of Rich Gannon a little bit. Id give Sloter some looks with the 2nd stringers and hopefully this kid shows he can play. I have been impressed with him last pre season and so far this year.
