Is it just me or does it seem like this next NFL draft will be a very weak one for QBs? Definitely does not seem like the year you want to tank to get a new QB. May only have a couple QBs picked in first round

When we started out at 0-2 and was looking at a early mock for 2022. QBs were very weak. Itโs the QBs from Oklahoma , UNC and Nevada in first round. All had question marks .

This is why it was so important to address the QB situation this past draft. I have a feeling passing on Jones is going to haunt this team.

The kid from Ole Miss is the only QB in this draft class that's remotely interesting. Rattler is not that good, Sam Howell has proven he can't do squat without 2 NFL wideouts and 2 NFL RBs on the team so far this year.

Vikings will trade out of the top 10 and go CB.
Peterson is the only good CB on this team right now.

His QB rating and completion % is not bad, but that can be misleading. His yards per completion is ranked 24th. Depends on the type of passes he is being asked to throw and when. My guess is Patriots are bring him along slow and managing his game. Time will tell what his ceiling is. For all we know is Mond may have a higher ceiling.

Reports/Rumors/etc was Spielman investigated the cost of trading up, but found it too expensive. Classic example of GM trying to save his job vs doing what was best for franchise. I've posted before, but today's NFL GM has ONE and only ONE job; find a Franchise QB. Spielman has failed miserably. Granted, so has numerous other GM's. But if the Fields rumors were true, I bet with his cozy relationship with the Wilfs, he could sell it as "wait till Fields is ready". Considering The Purple's history the past 40 years, they HAVE to go all in on a QB they believe in and trade up to get him. I'm all in on Mond, but history says if you don't find your Franchise QB in Round 1, you're really not going to find him in later rounds. I'd like to see The Purple hire people who have the balls to take a chance. For two decades the NFL have built the rules playbook around franchise QB's. For some reason, the Vikings have refused to read that rules playbook and for the most part, it's been GMs and/or Coaches trying to extend their career to the next year.

Need to find out if Mond is a player or a dud. I'm of the mindset that is if you don't know if you have a franchise QB you don't have a franchise QB. If the right prospect is there you take him and trade Mond for a 2nd or a 3rd.

I have liked Carson Strong for a while, but we have a mid round guy already.

All I know is I now have to hope that Jones stinks so (a) I don't have to hear 10-20 years of complaining that the Vikes didn't draft him and (b) I'm sick and tired of seeing the Pats win (esp. super bowls) -- if Belicheat can win again with a new QB, it'll be that much more intolerable to be near a Pats fan.
