The Vikings travel to Cincinnati to take on the Bengals this Sunday September 12th to start their season. Kickoff is at Noon CST and the game will be carried on Fox. Please reply to this post with your guess of the final score by kickoff. If you decide you want to change your guess after you have replied, please post another reply to this thread and I will use your last post as your entry. I enter the predictions into a spreadsheet throughout the week and if you edit your original post, chances are I won't notice it. The winner will be the closest to the actual final score calculated by the total number of points off of the final score. For example, Proudhorn predicts the Vikings win 27-14. The Vikings win the game 34-10. His prediction was 7 points under what the Vikings actually scored and his prediction was four points over what the opponent scored so he was off by a total of 11 points. The winner does not have to pick the winning team. I will post the weekly winners and I will also keep track of results for the season.
Week 1 is a hard game to judge. The Vikings offense really didn't show much to get too excited about and the defense wasn't much better. Granted, starters saw very limited action and the coaching staff may have been keeping things vanilla for the pre-season.
My yearly Vikings optimism hasn't been crushed yet. Here's hoping the Vikings go on the road and get a win to start the season and get things headed in the right direction.
