With 7 games left it looks like the Vikings will be out of the top 10 unless, right now they are in a coin flip for #12. That said, they are most likely out of reach of drafting a QB in the first. If so what do they do for QB going forward? Trask is an option as well as Mac Jones but not sure if they are first round material.
Another possibility is trading for a QB to get a year behind Kirk and begin coaching him up. Darnold will be on the trade block for sure and could be had probably for a mid round pick.
Other possibilities are FA QBs like Winston but you are buying someone else throw aways.
Could wait for 2022 but just no guarantees you will be in any better position to draft a top QB then.
So you do you see as your QB addition over the next 18 months?

Because of bye weeks teams have different win percentages. If the Vikings lost the rest of the year they would be grouped will al the 4 win teams. Right now 4 wins starts at #12. Of all the 4 win teams the Vikings are tied with the Lions at .507 strength of sched. The 9ers are at .531. So the 12th pick would be decided by a coin flip between the Vikings and Lions.
Update: Right now 4 wins starts at #9. Of all the 4 win teams the Vikings have the lowest .500 strength of sched. followed by the Lions at .506 if they tie with the same SOS the earlier pick will be decided by a coin flip.

I hate the idea of Davis or any other guard in the first round.
I want difference makers in the 1st round, guards rarely are difference makers, If we absolutely need to draft a guard, and I think we do, than get one in the 3rd or sign one in FA.
A first round pick better be making big splash plays. The best guards are invisible on Sundays. Even the top guards in most years fall out of the first round.
Edge rushers, 3DTs, CBs, OTs, WRs, QBs, are my targets in the first round. I may be persuaded to take a TE, LB or S but they better be crazy producers in college. I only draft a guard in the 1st if he is once in a generation guard or I have a top roster that has no holes to fill.
As far as Davis, he is not a once in a decade talent, in fact he may not be the best guard in the 21 draft. If that is the case, no thanks, Humphrey, Vera-Tucker, and Smith are all very good candidates to be high drafted guards.
If we absolutely must get one next April, I'll take may chances or trade up into the 2nd. There were ZERO guards drafted in the first round of 2020, only 1, Lindstrom, in 2019 and I think he is average. Yes Q Nelson was taken in the 1st in 18 and been very good but Wynn was the second guard taken in 18 and he was a college tackle. So that is 1 guard in 96 picks that were "stud" guards drafted in the last 3 drafts. So 1 % chance? No thanks.
