2 - 0 Twins in bottom of 7th. Buxton with 2 run HR for the only offense.
Twins win 3 - 1. WS also win and maintain a 1 game advantage.

Hill on the mound for the Twins. His curve ball has better action on it and bite. Struck out the side in the 2nd. Best FB 90 mph (a hair above his usual 89).
Plesac (Indians starter) has an excellent CU he can spot just about anywhere. FB 94 mph but little to no movement. Allowed 1 walk to Polanco, Cruz got just a little under a CU and flied out to L in the bottom of the 1st. Has an outstanding pick off move.

After a lead off double by Rooker into the LF corner (slider that hung), Marwin golfed a HR to right off a CU down but over the plate. Astudillo followed with a HR that barely it out to LL off yet another slider that had little movement and hung.
Prior to the bottom of the 2nd, Plesac had not given up any HR off his breaking stuff nor 3 runs in an inning.
Twins up 3-0.

Indians got 2 back in the top of the 4th. Lead off HR to L followed by an opposite field double off the top of the RF wall. 2 straight SAC flies netted a run.
Indians hitters either laying off Hill's curve (72-75 mph) or fouling them off but every time he throws a fastball near the plate they tee off (velocity down to 87-88). Pitch count already mid 70's. Wisler was working in the pen if Hill wasn't able to closeout the inning so he's going to come in for the 5th.
3-2 Twins.

Rooker took an inside pitch off his wrist (replaced by Cave). Buxton crushed a first pitch 2 run HR to LC this time off a FB out over the plate. Marwin with a shot to deep right that almost went out but high off the wall but was cut down down trying for a double.
5-2 Twins.

Surprisingly (especially after being hit hard the previous innings + his pitch count), Baldeli left Hill in for the 5th. Gave up a 2 out double but left the runner stranded.
Still 5-2 Twins.

Indians get 1 back against Wisler on double to LC that Buxton should have caught but over-ran slightly and let the ball glance off his glove followed by a 3B. Buxton slammed into the wall and was down quite a while but fortunately not injured and stayed in the game. Clippard came in to get the final 2 outs.
5-3 Twins

Clippard with a lead off BB to Ramirez. Stole 2nd (Clippard didn't use a slide step and Jeffers in to replace Austudillo double clutched the ball). Advanced to 3rd on a WP. Duffey came in but gave up the inherited runner on a passed ball by Jeffers (just closed his glove too soon).
Interesting observation by the announcers that the Twins throw the most breaking balls of any team. Also, made the point the Twins catchers across the board all kneel on 1 knee making them more susceptible to passed balls, not getting in front of WP and enable runners to steal bc the catcher isn't the proper position.
As I've been pointing out for weeks, opposing teams have run on the Twins pitchers bc of their slow delivery to the plate, catchers not able to throw runners out because of the huge jumps runners get and come play off time other teams will take advantage of this weakness.
The same holds of Baldeli's penchant for drawing in the infield with a runner on 3rd with less than 2 outs that have led to ground ball seeing eye singles that would otherwise be outs.
Both are coaching issues.

Bomba Squad with 5 HR's tonight. Hill piched well overall to last 5 for the win. Indians (5 game losing streak) now 3 1/2 games back while the Twins are 1 game behind the Sox (altho 2 back in the loss column).
8-4 final.

3 - 3 in the 5th.
Gonzalez with a 2 run HR and Cruz with a solo shot.
Jeffers with a 2 run HR and Twins up 5 - 3.
WS beating up the Tigers, again. Gotta win to keep pace.
And Donaldson adds a solo HR, 6 - 3 Twins after 5.

Twins hang on for the win. 7-5. Fidel Castro put 2 on in the 9th but left them stranded to get the save.
Twins swept the series with the Tribe. Still a game back of the Sox (2 down in the loss column) while the Indians fall 4 games off the pace.
