The punishment fits the crime. Iβm actually hoping Gary Kubiak will agree to doing play calling. While Shurmur wouldnβt bother me, he didnβt do the Giants offensive line any favors, and he would bring another different system.

All I know is Shurmur's play calling with the terrible o-line the Vikes had in 2016 was about as good as it could possibly be with those limitations.

Am I the only person who wonders what Stefanski did to earn a head coaching gig?
I don't dislike Stefanski and for an OC in his first full year he did fine. Clearly he got a ton of help from G. Kubiak and Dennison. I'm just not sure how much he actually brought to the table.
It seems that teams are now looking for the McVay/Shanahan profile. Young, offensive coaches who are highly intelligent. Stefanski certainly fits that criteria, but I think everyone acknowledges that McVay and Shanahan were very talented in developing offenses, implementing excellent game plans, and excelled as play callers. Does Stefanski check off any of those boxes?
It's interesting that the Cowboys hired McCarthy and the Browns hired Stefanski, because IMO the Cowboys needed a head coach who offered upside and the Browns needed an experienced coach who would be a steady hand to mitigate a problematic locker room. I guess the failure of the Kitchens experiment, offensive guy who was a first time head coach, didn't drive the point home.
Stefanski may be a very good head coach, but his experience as a QB coach and OC doesn't offer much insight as to how he will fare running the show. I wish him well, but given that Jimmy Haslam is the owner Stefanski probably has two seasons to get the team into the playoffs. The talent would suggest this is entirely possible, but the collection of people may suggest otherwise.

Gee i guess he was REALLY focused on his gameplan for the 49ers Back that up. No Problem. Shurmer during the 2017 championship game The fact that the NFL allows teams to interview coaches during the playoff is a f'ing joke! No way anyone can stay 100% focused.

No way anyone can stay 100% focused.Β I wouldnβt have guessed this until I heard an interview with a former coach on ESPN radio. He said it very much does take your time and attention, because you have to do an analysis of the team you are interviewing for from top to bottom. Just the amount of time it takes to watch the tape of all their games is a time vacuum when you could be watching game tape of your upcoming opponent. I agree that the rules need to be changed.

I agree there is no way he could be reviewing a new team and prepping for the game on Saturday....
Kinda goes to character of the coach.... if he had any he would tell the Brown's wait till I am done with my current job. Don't let the door hit ya on the way out.
