Was hoping the 2020 NFL Offensive line class would be better. Lot of old horses here.
IMO had our offensive line been better I think the game in SF yesterday would have been much different.

Nothing in free agency for O line; however, there are 6 or 7 OTs in the draft that profile extremely well. The question is, do they flip O'Neill to LT? He certainly has the athleticism and has done it in college. Or do you think you can find a starting LT in the draft? Reiff has been average, but is expensive and clearly an upgrade is needed on the left side. Elflein is a center only and needs to be traded.

Elfein is a poor center and why we replaced him at that position. He graded decently in rush blocking is likely the only reason he started at LG. The guy cannot pass protect and gets dominated and at best should be depth. As far as looking at UFA lineman, where do we get the cap space to compete with other teams, when we cannot afford our own. Only UFA lineman that we can afford are likely going to be rated poorly and worse than we we currently have. Not a solution to our problems.

Brandon Scherff and Jack Conklin are the only names on that list that remotely excite me, but very little chance we can afford either without shedding a ton of our current players (which we probably should do anyway).
Hey we could always bring TJ Clemmings back. Dougpascal would probably get excited over that.
I thought when GB drafted Spriggs he was going to be a good one, but I'm glad he turned out terrible for them.

That Oline has to get bigger and faster because little and faster doesnβt get you past the upper echelon of defenses in the NFL.

Has anybody here watched that big tackle from Louisville Becton? He's really big, and I'd call him a better run blocker than a pass blocker. He has a tendency to want to throw defenders to the ground, but if he misses, it can get him out of position. I think this is every snap vs Notre Dame bucsreport.com/2020/01/05/draft-profile-mekhi-becton-ot-louisville/

Has anybody here watched that big tackle from Louisville Becton? Minnesota does not believe O-linemen should be big and strong. We prefer undersized and easy overpowered.

This sounds like a huge improvement over Elf.......
7. LG JOE THUNEY, NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
Positional grade rank: 5th at guard
Thuney ended the 2018 season on the highest of notes, not allowing a single pressure in 18 pass-blocking snaps matched up against Aaron Donald in the Super Bowl. That isnβt a feat to take lightly. He has carried over that play into 2019 and comes in at seventh on the list of the top offensive linemen this season.
Thuney has been outstanding in pass protection, allowing just 16 pressures in 584 pass-blocking snaps this season, ranking fourth among all guards in pressure rate allowed at 2.7%. He will need to continue to provide clean pockets for Tom Brady because, as weβve dived into recently, the Patriots offense has struggled this season to make plays when pressure gets home against them.

Any chance we slide Reiff inside where his shorter arms and size could be beneficial? His lack of speed could be hidden here
We could draft LT in the first, slide Reiff to LG, send Garrett to the weight room, and let the right side season.
Question is, can you upgrade the LG position for less than we are paying Reiff?
Stud LT, solid LG and RG play, improved Center, and Stud RT should be good enough for this offense (outside of a rookie WR pick up)
Cuts, spending, 2nd, 3rd and 4th round picks for the D Cuts: Griff, Linval, Rhodes Spending: Reed/Billings/AShawn, Mac, Harris, Weatherly Draft: DT, DE, CB 2-4

Thuney is a beast. I'm a homer but I loved this guy at NC State. Honestly a little surprised if he leaves New England but I'd love to see him in purple next few years
