I appreciate your passion. This weekend was the 50th anniversary of our SB IV loss to KC, which coincidentally was the first Viking game I ever watched.
I'm still critical of this organization in many ways, but after so many years of futility one realizes that getting emotionally so worked up about them is bad for your health, mainly because they are like a time loop in a sci fi film, just failing in the same ways over and over and over and over. The characters change but the story arc never does. It's like a bad soap opera.
No doubt Zim and Rick will be gone someday but the story will continue.

All of this angst is over a form of entertainment. How do we handle the big stuff in life?

1 Zim has played plenty of zone and man over the last 2 years , not zone almost the whole last 2 years. - 2 Yes he played Rhodes but he had to with Hughes on IR and Hill on suspension. 3 Kept playing Harris and Smith 5 yards past first down marker? Tell me another safety that playes closer to the LOS than Smith. 4 What high draft picks were traded away for 6 7th rounders? Last year Rick moved down in the Third and drafted a great player in the 3rd, so moving down in a round is not giving up high picks for a half dozen 7ths as you exaggerated. 5 What 7th rounder is starting on the Vikings line? So yeah you were angry, I get it. I was hoping for a win too but I was realistic. I will continue to root for the Vikings, you probably will too but your post was a ton of exaggerations. 1 - I honestly don't know the breakdown of zone vs man coverage with Zim's defense the last two years (I've seen both), but here are a few nuggets on that topic: One of the biggest tenets of being a good zone coverage team is limiting yards after the catch. The Vikings personify that, as theyβve allowed a completion percentage against over 70 in zone coverage this year yet still graded very well. One of the biggest reasons why has been the play of linebacker Eric Kendricks. Heβs currently the highest-graded zone coverage linebacker in the NFL. On 26 targets in zone coverage this season, only seven have resulted in first downs while heβs forced incompletions on eight others. Though it should be noted opponents tried the coverage in an attempt to stop Matt Moore, who saw 16 snaps against Cover 4 in two games against the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers. fivethirtyeight.com/features/what-the-nfls-new-pass-defense-metric-can-and-cant-tell-us/2 - Hill was suspended through the first 8 games and neither Hughes or Mac were on IR then. The graphic of Rhodes being so bad was the point and continual frustration from us fans that have seen Rhodes fail time and time again, but not have anyone replace him when we have the opportunity to is the problem. 3 - So you acknowledged there was no exaggeration here. Harrison was burned twice against the Saints because he was playing closer to the LOS (possibly misunderstanding with Rhodes), so the result may have been to overcompensate against the 49ers instead of game planning effectively. You are exactly right on Smith and that he is a big reason for the defensive success in the run game, as is Harris, to SV's point. Zim tries to get too cute at times and fails to understand how to utilize his players talents and/or systems effectively for each opponent. 4 - Whether you want to call it exaggeration or simply an emphasis on the love Spielman has for 6th/7th rounders, it is a fact...since 2010, Spielman's teams have had 2+ 7th round picks every year, 3 7th round picks twice, and 4 7th round picks twice. He has selected 2+ 6th round picks six times since 2010, 3 6th round picks once, and 4 6th round picks once. In 2019, he selected 3 6th round picks and 4 7th round picks. I think that's the point SV is making. Rick's wheeling and dealing and coming away with 6th and 7th round picks and nothing to show for it. Other than Blair Walsh (6th rounder), Odenigbo (7th rounder), and Bisi Johnson/Austin Cutting (7th rounders - still fresh - 2019), this is what we have come away with since 2010 in those rounds that he continues to trade into. I'm not sure how that stacks up to other GM's/teams, but it sure seems like a lot of moving around for nothing but noise. 5 - Josh Kline was undrafted. Didn't Rashod Hill start for Reiff when he was injured? What about 2018? How many games did Hill start? He was undrafted by the way. Where are you with the national embarrassment? How about Kirk and Zim's record against quality/winning teams and/or in primetime games? Change is needed and not just Steph leaving... OMG! really? Dude get over it. Either you are a Vikings fan or your not. I said a post was alot of exaggeration. You asked why so I explained it. Now your rebut my explanation with a lot of non-sense. Do I really need to address your counterpoints one by one and show you where its wrong? I am a Vikings fan, I look forward to this team getting better in the offseason, I look forward to rooting for them all next year and I will always root for their success.

Are you serious? Iβm a fan too and I am passionate about my teams. I want my team to win and apparently you couldnβt care less because at the end of the day, youβre going to move on and tell use to f-off if they are in disarray. SVβs post is not exaggeration...itβs real life stuff that has happened to this team and you can choose to not believe it and move on. I have every right to rebut your post. Did you win some immunity award that I havenβt seen here where you can criticize and others cannot provide a debate on your points? Go slide down your rainbow slide and high five the unicorns on the way down. Hopefully you find that pot of gold on the other side.

You should wait a year, 2020 puts us in the NFCC game; 1976 + 11 1987 + 11 1998 + 11 2009 + 11 2020

Youβre underestimating this franchise. Theyβll choke both on schedule and off schedule. You left out the NFCC appearances in 2000 and 2017....but those 2 losses were by a combined 72 points, so maybe youβve just erased them from your memory. Lucky you!

I didn't forget, I'm just showing that since 1976 every 11 years we were in the NFCC.

Grammar and punctuation please...your statement here makes zero sense without it. So, much hatred (talk); to some, one-and-talk; positive about: "things". It helps... I just saw this and literally laughed out loud.

Oh, I got that. Just wanted to make sure the purple pollyanna Ryckophants understood that this era of playoff futility is worse than what you listed.....and also the WORST in franchise history. FUN FACTS : Vrabel and his Titans took 2 WEEKS to match Zimmerβs 6 YEAR Playoff win total. The Jags did the same thing in 2017. Rex Ryan and Mark Sanchez exceeded Schpielmanβs 14 YEAR playoff win total in the span of 12 MONTHS (4 to 3, ALL road victories). The good news? Dickyβs Vikings teams FINALLY have as many playoff wins (3) as home stadiums since heβs blessed us Vikings fans with his awesome presence in 2006! Good on ya, Dick! Now, go focus on securing a dozen 7th round picks for the upcoming draft. Your philosophy has proven to be spectacular! The unprecedented playoff success of your teams is iron clad proof of that!

Sundown much? LOL! Lame, obscure, non-witty reply. Typical. I notice you canβt dispute my facts, so you go middle-school with a sorry ass attempt at a personal attack. Brilliant!!
