Enough already! I don't even care if even the Packers win the SB. Zimmer's D bled out through his eye 3 years ago. He had RS draft for man to man and played zone almost the whole last 2 years. He kept playing Rhodes when, as the opening introduction graphic showed, has dropped to 128th rated CB in the league. He kept playing Harris and Smith 5-10 yards behind the 1st down marker taking them completely out of the run game, effectively playing D with 9 guys -- and getting exactly the result you would expect. Not just this game, either, but that's the "D" they've played most of the year.
They haven't just lost games this year, they've been horribly humiliated on National TV several times. They are an embarrassment to themselves and Minnesota, and I am ashamed to be a Viking fan anymore.
I'm tired of seeing high draft picks being traded, traded again and traded yet again to draft half a dozen or more 7th rounders. I'm tired of drafting 6th and 7th rounders and sticking them in as OL starters, then wondering why our QB looks like a deer in the headlights and blaming him for no offense.
The Wilfs have gone on record saying neither Spielman or Zimmer are going anyplace. Well, good for them, but that's the nail in the coffin for me. I didn't expect to see a win today and I could have lived with a loss in a good, tight game, but THIS? More national embarrassment to go with Philly, GB, and the last two RS games.
Our window slammed shut for the 44th straight year, and I'm tired of waiting for it. I need to walk away for a while, maybe permanently. Being a fan of a professional sports team, for me anyway, requires at least some pleasurable return that lasts more than a week. 13-3 followed by a humiliating loss in Philly followed the next year by 8-7-1, then 10-6 and getting swept by our greatest rival and another humiliating loss in the PO seems to have my purple tank run dry. I foresee another 3-5 year rebuild coming, and I just don't see myself waiting through another "do over," especially if the Vikings retain Mr. Conservative and his boss, Sir Seventh of the Round Table.
If the Vikings ever build a bandwagon worth jumping on, I'll hop aboard. Until then, meh. 56 years of "Maybe next year" is enough. I have two granddaughters who would like to see their grandparents more. I think I'll make that happen.

What world are you living in to think that this is exaggeration? Abysmal game plan, when one game removed of a great plan. So sad with so much potential. Dr Zim and Mr Zim...

Iβm tired of being mocked because Iβve been calling for a new coach the last 2 years. Seems like there are a lot of folks that are ok with getting the playoff participation trophy. Even though our roster is getting a bit long in the tooth we still have talent. I truly believe that the Vikings could have thrown any number of coaches out there and achieved similar/same results. Zimmer is absolutely nothing special and I just donβt understand why some people continually make excuses for him. I donβt think he is a terrible coach.....just nothing special. Weβve seen the best we are going to get from him and itβs past time to move on.

Dr Zim and Mr Zim... 1 Zim has played plenty of zone and man over the last 2 years , not zone almost the whole last 2 years. 2 Yes he played Rhodes but he had to with Hughes on IR and Hill on suspension. 3 Kept playing Harris and Smith 5 yards past first down marker? Tell me another safety that playes closer to the LOS than Smith. 4 What high draft picks were traded away for 6 7th rounders? Last year Rick moved down in the Third and drafted a great player in the 3rd, so moving down in a round is not giving up high picks for a half dozen 7ths as you exaggerated. 5 What 7th rounder is starting on the Vikings line? So yeah you were angry, I get it. I was hoping for a win too but I was realistic. I will continue to root for the Vikings, you probably will too but your post was a ton of exaggerations.

Dr Zim and Mr Zim... 1 Zim has played plenty of zone and man over the last 2 years , not zone almost the whole last 2 years. - 2 Yes he played Rhodes but he had to with Hughes on IR and Hill on suspension. 3 Kept playing Harris and Smith 5 yards past first down marker? Tell me another safety that playes closer to the LOS than Smith. 4 What high draft picks were traded away for 6 7th rounders? So yeah you were angry, I get it. I was hoping for a win too but I was realistic. I will continue to root for the Vikings, you probably will too but your post was a ton of exaggerations. 1 - I honestly don't know the breakdown of zone vs man coverage with Zim's defense the last two years (I've seen both), but here are a few nuggets on that topic: One of the biggest tenets of being a good zone coverage team is limiting yards after the catch. The Vikings personify that, as theyβve allowed a completion percentage against over 70 in zone coverage this year yet still graded very well. One of the biggest reasons why has been the play of linebacker Eric Kendricks. Heβs currently the highest-graded zone coverage linebacker in the NFL. On 26 targets in zone coverage this season, only seven have resulted in first downs while heβs forced incompletions on eight others. Though it should be noted opponents tried the coverage in an attempt to stop Matt Moore, who saw 16 snaps against Cover 4 in two games against the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers. fivethirtyeight.com/features/what-the-nfls-new-pass-defense-metric-can-and-cant-tell-us/2 - Hill was suspended through the first 8 games and neither Hughes or Mac were on IR then. The graphic of Rhodes being so bad was the point and continual frustration from us fans that have seen Rhodes fail time and time again, but not have anyone replace him when we have the opportunity to is the problem. 3 - So you acknowledged there was no exaggeration here. Harrison was burned twice against the Saints because he was playing closer to the LOS (possibly misunderstanding with Rhodes), so the result may have been to overcompensate against the 49ers instead of game planning effectively. You are exactly right on Smith and that he is a big reason for the defensive success in the run game, as is Harris, to SV's point. Zim tries to get too cute at times and fails to understand how to utilize his players talents and/or systems effectively for each opponent. 4 - Whether you want to call it exaggeration or simply an emphasis on the love Spielman has for 6th/7th rounders, it is a fact...since 2010, Spielman's teams have had 2+ 7th round picks every year, 3 7th round picks twice, and 4 7th round picks twice. He has selected 2+ 6th round picks six times since 2010, 3 6th round picks once, and 4 6th round picks once. In 2019, he selected 3 6th round picks and 4 7th round picks. I think that's the point SV is making. Rick's wheeling and dealing and coming away with 6th and 7th round picks and nothing to show for it. Other than Blair Walsh (6th rounder), Odenigbo (7th rounder), and Bisi Johnson/Austin Cutting (7th rounders - still fresh - 2019), this is what we have come away with since 2010 in those rounds that he continues to trade into. I'm not sure how that stacks up to other GM's/teams, but it sure seems like a lot of moving around for nothing but noise. 5 - Josh Kline was undrafted. Didn't Rashod Hill start for Reiff when he was injured? What about 2018? How many games did Hill start? He was undrafted by the way. Where are you with the national embarrassment? How about Kirk and Zim's record against quality/winning teams and/or in primetime games? Change is needed and not just Steph leaving...
