then why in the world did he not tell the coach to stop trying to salvage the season last year once cousins went down?? He knew cousins wasn't a lock and he knew that playoff success would have been near impossible even if we did sneak in.
he really should have done what most coaches do in that situation and cut bait in hopes of landing a better draft pick. even with just two more losses we are within striking distance of top 4 without giving up much at all. His decision to gain two meaningless wins will probably cost us 3 1st round picks .. that is huge!!
there is no shame in recognizing where you stand and being proactive in creating a better long term future for your team. I thought he would be that kind of gm... this current situation he put us in proves he isnt.

No damn chance in hell would have the Vikings been able to do a deep playoff run if they squeaked in. That 3-0 Raiders victory was the shittiest possible outcome. That game alone cost us big to move up this year.

They also knew in the back of their heads that they had no chance to get to a SB with career backups who turned the ball over at will.

Not an excuse, but the bigger issue is that he wasnβt aware of the degree of difference between the Cousins market and what we were prepared to offer him. For THAT reason the organization felt there wasnβt this desperate need to tank games.

Many of these guys are hyper competitive and trying to not win isn't in their lexicon. I imagine that if an NFL coach sand bagged the team he would have had a mutiny on his hands.

I have been trying for a few hours now to think of what specifically Kwesi did to WIN the Raiders game.

The way to really tank the season when Kirk went down would have been to have KOC out the pads on and play qb himself.

In professional sports which is supposed to set a standard (I quit believing this long ago) it is not a cut and dried as the average video game junkie believes, but then again the "reset" mentality of the average video game player is very prevalent in today's society. Take a look at our history. Where would have been if we would have given up on the following 1. Valley Forge 2. Pearl Harbor 3. Russians launching Sputnik 4. First human in space Yes it is a game and nowhere near the importance of those dates in history. But the mentality that it is alright to "reset" because in doing so gets you some kind of benefit, is well...... a losers mentality. It doesn't work more then it works. Cleveland, Las Vegas, Washington, New York Jets. Some teams that it just might change for are Detroit, Jacksonville, Texans but to date they still have not won it all either.

They both will be gone by the end of 2025 and Flores just might take over as head coach.

Unless KOC really screws up, I donβt see him going anywhere anytime soon. I think the Wilfs really like the guy and the environment he brings. A few more QB sneaks with Powell as the pusher might change their mindπ€£, but I donβt think heβs in jeopardy for this pickβ¦ especially since he made it abundantly clear he wanted Kirk back. Kwesi yesβ¦. I donβt think KOC is tied to this pick sitting at 11 with no real control over who they get. Kwesi, not KOC put them in this spot.
