1. the Vikings are tight lip when it comes to their plan in the '24 draft. It has been harder to gleen information but we have to try and read the tea leaves.
2. QB is the top target, we all know this, but their plans and back-up plans are closely guarded secrets. I think Maye is the target but I just don't know if they can get to him. I believe that McCarthy is the QB that could fall and I could see the Vikings reluctant to move up if he is left standing after the top 3 dust settles. Meaning unwilling to add '25 first to get to top 5 pick.
3. JJ will NOT be traded and has never been on the trade block. This is the dumbest crap that people with a podium or keyboards have tried to put out there as being in the realm of possibility.
4. Day 2 will be one of the most boring draft days we as Viking fans will face, I think the only way we see a day 2 pick would be if they failed to get their QB in a trade up and are looking to move back and get picks in the 2nd and 3rd. I don't see this as happening, but there is always a chance.
5. The Vikings have 7 picks scheduled on day 3 starting at 108. I could see them trying to put some of those picks on the trade block to move up and get a guy they are targeting to fill a depth spot at OL, DL, WR, or CB.
6. The Vikings will be active with UDFAs again and expect to see them handing out some of the largest signing bonuses to add a UDFA or 2 that they covett.
So that's it for 2024. alot of question marks and alot of sitting and waiting ahead of us as fans next week.

I do not think we have ever had a GM who is more challenging to figure out what he will do, he has been all over the place in his first two drafts, so really hard to predict. I agree with this, I think we will do all we can to move up to the top 3 and if not, I think all the rumors about us moving up to get JJM is a bunch of smoke, I do not think we will give up multiple 1st rounders to get him and I also think there is chance he will fall to 11 and also that the Vikings have another plan for QB which may involve Penix/Nix at 11, 23 or in between as a fallback plan.

LOL, I think KAM's first draft was such a total fuckup it's likely to shade people's opinion of him for years to come. His second draft wasn't too bad, IMO, and I think he's done well flushing high buck contracts when the players no longer play to their worth and his cap management post Cousins has been remarkable. I also think no matter how this draft goes there will be a group of people here who will call for his head. One group will want it if he doesn't trade up and get a QB and another will if he does. That's just the nature of a football board.

What is amusing and also revealing is this top part of the QB class under the microscope now with appropriate scrutiny.
A year ago, the top six were absolute no miss guys. Now that their workouts and tapes have been played out forever, all the flaws of each is a caution.
They all could be very good or they could be very mediocre with no more impact than Bridgewater had here.
Only Milton from Ten. has off-the-charts physicals in this pool and he canβt be the go-to target

What I think I know
Kwesi has one year left on his contract after this year. Kwesi wants an extension Trading up into the top 10 will give you a flyer to see if that QB hits so you get that contract extension The Wilfs didn't give permission to Kwesi to let Cousins walk without the idea of trading up and getting one of the top 4 QB's. The vikes are trading up and if it takes three first round picks and maybe another mid round throw in, they are going to do it.

I mean Caleb is a specimen, Maye is Huge, runs near a 4.5 and has a rocket arm, Daniels might be faster then Lamar, and McCarthy was testing with DB agility numbers... I mean this is one of the most athletic group of guys I have ever seen. Milton is just big and throws a mile. Michigan knew it was a mistake bringing him in weeks after he showed up and he bounced around. As a Michigan fan I will tell you Milton has tools, but no instincts running or passing.

Rick was an easier read on his interests in a way, but team has been talking openly about this QB class for 2 years.

Value on that trade up is usually a 2nd rounder so the 2nd first would be surplus value for the Chargers. If it is the Chargers I will not be surprised if they trade both 1's this year and one of the 4ths and get #5 and a 3rd or something along those lines. Depends how much they want someone like Alt? There was a leak that Zona was asking for 3 1's and were rejected, but that is kind of an asking for the sky type deal. Picks #2 and #3 are the only ones worth both 1's and sugar. Washington has actually had rumors they might be willing to move out.

I said, if they have too, which means they would need to get to three cause the Cards don't want to move down to 11 but would move to 6 with the Giants. It all comes down to what the vikes think the Giants will do.

With 2 years left on his contract, this 2024 draft is definitely a life-altering event for him (and KOC as well).
