Interested in your math since we signed at least 4 comp pick eligible FA's and Wonnum can cancel out Van Ginkel I still have Greenard canceling out Hunter and Darnold canceling or reducing Kirk comp pick. Who do you have canceling out Darnold and Cashman then? We lost 2 tier 1 FA's and 1 mid so far as I can tell and signed 1 tier 1 and 3 mids. Even if our numbers even off signings to losses we will get a bone thrown for the Kirk loss because he was the highest signing. I maybe missed Osborn or someone else getting a deal? So far the Vikings have lost 5 players that qualify for the equation and added 4. Hunter and Greenard cancel each other out. Cashman, Darnold, and Van Ginkell are canceled out by Davenport, Hicks and Wonnum. Leaving Cousins as the player we would receive a 3rd round pick for. Overthecap has a good breakdown of this on their site. Forgot Davenport was part of the comp still it doesnt work that way completely. Signing a tier 1 FA will Negate Hunter as a Tier 1 in all likelihood. I would not bank on a 3.25M contract staying for comp pick. Guys at lower end have to stay on a roster through trade deadline (remember when Sam got cut by the Cards right before he would have triggered a 3rd rd comp pick?). Darnold & Van Ginkel got tier 2 contracts and Cashman got a tier 3. Wonnum was a tier 3 loss. They actually do things like balance out value when they do comp pick computations of deals. I have not even seen Davenports number from the Lions so no idea if he got a tier 2 or tier 3 deal?

Davenport got $6.5 million from the Lions for this year. Each of the 5 players listed signed away for over 4 million, so they would likely stay in the computation.

Remember if the Vikings qualify for 2 picks it will be more likely they end up with something like a 3rd for Kirk and 6th or 7th for a low tier FA. I think the 3rd for Hunter left when they signed Greenard as they will stay canceled out. Hicks got 3.25 average that will set him borderline.

Yes, most likely any other picks would be in the 6th or 7th round range if they lose any more qualifying free agents. It was reported Hicks got 8 million over 2 years, making it a 4 million average.

I saw it was only 3.25 and incentives, but if it is 4 it would probably be safe. I mean just 5 years ago 1.7M guys were qualifying and lately it has been quite a bit higher.
