Flores - he doesn't care to have a large stable of big bodies and wants Edge guys and DBs to fly around. This is a move cementing that theory.
There was a nice article on this and snap counts compared to rest of the League (Basically, Phillips and Bullard play) and the amount of DL in on plays was crazy low how small the Vikings Defense lines up.

Hey Doug; I knew he was one of your Poster/Poser boy favorite Vikings from the '23 squad with all of his outstanding stat lines and out of this world PFF rankings!
Maybe this roll of retaining such familiar players is just getting started!
FWIW - I may be in the minority (perhaps just us), but I liked the Darnold signing more than most!

Is there a such thing as a "bridge" 3-4 Defensive End?? I can see Bullard and Roy sharing snaps. Not a bad player to retain. He scored low in PFF but he seemed to get some good stops here and there. This reminds me of how we kept Hicks last year. We simply can't replace EVERYONE.

Might as well, it's gonna be a crappy rebuilding year, might as well keep some of the worst defensive players around. Not even Lowry could keep his job though

Bullard played well in 2023. Having his best season as a pro in the Flores system.
He does a lot of the dirty work so I would have been surprised if the Vikings had let him walk.

Bullard fits the 3-4 for Flores well. Had a nice season last year.
