an ominous thought. Buyer beware when it comes to drafting QBs, particularly true when picking from leftovers.

Only Lawrence and Fields had 1st round potential. The rest were badly over drafted by teams because the structure of the game and cap has pushed the need for a young QB on 5 years cost control to the fore. They now take guys in the first, often blindly ignoring issues, who would have been drafted in later rounds 20 years ago. The idea that Trey Lance was worthy of that draft slot is just, mind-blowing.

Buyer beware on Nix, McCarthy, Pennix, Maye and Daniel's in this draft. Nix and McCarthy because I'm not sure their strengths translate favorably to the NFL. Pennix because of injury issues. Maye gives me Trubisky vibes. Daniels could be another Fields. That being said, I think it's time the Vikings draft one.

I think Williams, Maze and Daniels are going 1-3. i think that the Vikings will try to pull a 2014 draft again. Take one of the DL studs at 11 like Turner, Latu or Newton and then trade back into the late first if Pennix or Nix is there.

If Williams goes 1 then Fields will be on the block and I wouldn't rule out him to the Vikings either. The Vikes tried like crazy to move up for him during the draft and I'm sure O'Connell thinks he is the QB whisperer to make him great. It's interesting to compare him to the other QBs in this year's draft. I wouldn't take him over Caleb, but I might rate him above everyone else.

A couple things?
Wasn't it a different Viking front office that desired to move up for Fields?
Also what about McConnell makes you believe he thinks he is a QB whisperer who can fix Fields?

Or the Bears decide to stick with Fields and they trade down a few spots

Often heralded GM John Lynch gave up 3 first round picks and a 3rd round pick to draft Lance.
So pretty sure 49ers had him rated as a first rounder.

All 6 obviously have bust potential, itโs the nature of the beast.

Not a fan of any of the "top" QBs in this draft. Even leery of Williams. Kid developed very bad habits while playing for Riley.

This is the year to try to find one. If KOC is so spectacular at QB developing and finding the right one its time to put up or shut up. There are 4 QBs attainable 2 that wont be. If Kwesi and KOC swing and miss its time to get a new tandem. Kwesis 2022 draft is already a disaster. KOCs inability to stick with the run when running the ball is needed to be successful at play action and his time management/interesting play calls is already telling me neither one have it. I dont want another 3-5 years of well we will wait and see anymore. Unless you have a franchise GM and franchise coach(see SF, Balt,Pitts) you can no longer afford to give some of these tandems who lack experience that long to see if the light bulb turns on for them. Best case scenario, we draft one of the 4 attainable QBs and he becomes our next franchise QB for the next 8+ yrs. Worst case, our tandem whiffs again on the draft and we start over that much quicker.
