Just finish 7-10 and get a QB. Yes I know itβs a 50/50 shot that the pick is a bust but itβs a 100% certainty that this team is going nowhere in the playoffs. Time to play the long game. Β None of the options beyond Maye or Williams excite me, and neither of those guys are making it past the 2nd overall pick. At this point, I fully expect the Vikings will resign Cousins and using the First round draft pick on a LB or Interior Line KOC was hired to find a QB. He was a QB, QB coach, OC and now a HC. This will be his 3rd offseason. Time to pick a QB and develop him. We canβt wait for the Vikings to go 2-15 to get a QB.

I think that's more the GM's responsibility, and Kwesi is going to pursue Cousins for another term because that's the safest bet he can see.

This is the year to replace Cousins. We won't see another QB year like this for a long time.

Sorry you crap shooting cheerleaders are dead wrong, Draft linemen in rounds one and two(the only picks that have any real probability of working) and keep your top ten qb while drafting one every year

Vikings will offer Kirk a fair contract. It'll be up to him whether he accepts. Vikings will also draft a QB.
Both can be the right move.

Give Kirk a 2 yr deal at 30 million per. Hunter will be gone as well as that ex Saint DE that never really played..Davenport. they'll draft a DE this yr.

Finding a franchise QB in the middle to late rounds is a pipe dream. Yeah it happens occasionally but itβs a long shot. Look at the top QBs in the league and where they were drafted. In no particular order:
Mahomes- 1st Burrow- 1st Lamar- 1st Hurts- 2nd Allen- 1st Dak- 3rd Herbert-1st Rodgers- 1st Tua- 1st Stourd- 1st Purdy-7th Kirk-4th Stafford-1st Lawrence-1st Watson-1st Goff-1st
So of the top 16 QBs in the NFL 12 were drafted in the 1st or 75%. And 1 in the 2nd. Only 3 out of the 16 were mid to late rd picks. If the Vikings think theyβre going to find a long term solution at QB by drafting Monds and Halls theyβre on crack. Iβm fine with Kirk coming back for another year but this is the year to get a QB in the 1st rd. Enough already.

Thanks for the QB draft position reminder, this should be a constant reminder to the Vikings team and all its fans going right up until this next draft!
With such a decent crop of prospects available, MN has to draft one of them as their 1st or 2nd pick. I am fine with a short 2 yr contract to Kirk as a bridge and I think he would accept lower $ and term to stay. Why? Becuz he would not be on a short leash in year one or really 2 of that deal even in the presence of such drafted QB. KOC doesnβt replace Offense players at will of performance. He sticks with guys unless injured.
Kirk is almost always top 10 tier regular season and despite the Achilles, should continue that way with just an occasional blip on prime time games on the road or outside.
He only gets replaced in that term due to injury or as part of a blowout game. As long as KOC is calling plays, the Vikes offense will Not blow out anybody. As long as Flores is calling the Defense, they wonβt get blown out. (Injuries withstanding)
Two years Only on Kirk so we can keep Darrisaw and JJ and the cheaper high draft pick QB is ready by β25 but likely in by β26 - probably after more playoff losses with Kirk!

This year, we could get a really good prospect at QB WITHOUT having to trade up like the past few years. Big difference.
Middle round QBs usually do nothing. Especially for the Vikings.
Why do you think we had to go out and get Cousins in the first place?

If you want your franchise guy, you gotta go get your franchise guy. I always, maybe naively, had a strong belief that KOC was the guy who could properly analyze our franchise QB of the future. However, that belief is waning as of late. But I definitely want to believe he can do it.

This is dead right The crap shoot cheerleaders are dead wrong Been playing the Kirk game for years and has not moved the needle and you want to invest heavy in his decline years after a major injury... That is your plan? Ideally, Kirk comes back for a year at around $30mm. Heβs already a $28mm cap hit because of the void years so at that price he doesnβt eat up any more cap. You then draft a kid in the 1st and he can sit for a year and not get rushed in. But I think Kirk will get an offer of at least two years guaranteed elsewhere. Will he stay here for a year or take the guaranteed money? In the past with Kirk itβs been about the money which Iβm fine with. Make all you can. But maybe he wants one more bite of the apple in Minnesota.
