Despite Dobbs Horrific play, we still had a chance so this isnt entirely on Dobbs. But for those scoring at home:
Dobbs has played 11 quarters of football for us. 5 incredible quarters to start and now 6 horrible quarters in a row. I think the rest of the league already knew what we are just finding out. i feel so fooled.
if KOC starts Dobbs next week, regardless of whether you think we are still in a playoff hunt or not, KOC should be fired. Time to go back to Mullins or Hall, but this experiment is over.

We made plenty of attempts to get first downs... 4 in fact that ended in turnovers. I don't like the play calling but what options were there? I'd take a pick at the 5 yard line over the punt but it's not like we saw anything tonight that said if we pass the ball downfield it will be successful. Other teams can run the ball in situations like that and for some reason we can't... and haven't been able to for what seems like a decade. Without a competent QB you just don't have a full playbook. I'm more upset with the prevent we played over that possession. Neither were good but we had been giving them fits with the blitz. In a Pick Your Poison situation I alway want to go aggressive... or what got you there but the advent of 24hr sports "news" and 300 opportunities to replay every decision during the week everyone is afraid of the hard decision. Tough loss, but in all reality this season was lost when Cousin's went down. Dobbs was a good story (and still is) but to overlook his ineptitude tonight is a little off. On second down on the vikes last drive attempt, the Bears had everyone on the line of scrimmage. A pass would have been an easy first down. We haven't have an "easy first down" in the last 6 quarters. No reason to think anything was easy. They had 8 at the line... we do that all the time and drop them out. That's what teams do. I don't like the results of that drive at all. I'd take a pick over the punt but I don't put the loss on the coach because he had very few choices given the results of the previous 45 minutes.

Dobbs pocket was so clean on his TD drive I wondered if the game was rigged or if the Bears quit. The contrast from the rest of the game's pocket was bizarre.
I think KOC's challenge with Dobbs is vastly underrated. It's not hard to understand playcalling restraints. What I don't understand is if you think highly enough of Josh to RIDE him, why not put him on the bench when our "emergency" ended, acknowledge the tough situation of learning the playbook and actually prepare him to play down the road? He looks like toast now.

I think everyone needs to realize this team is going nowhere unless both Cousins and JJ can return after the bye. We know that isnβt happening.
Knee jerk reaction is Iβd like to see Hall start, but do we subject a young guy like him to this mess? At least he would have JJ.

Dobbs had his chance and got lucky in the first two games, but teams have figured him out and his panic attacks are not going to stop, that's who he is and why he was benched by the Cards early in the season.
I kept waiting for the Dobbs carriage to turn back into a pumpkin and here we are. He is more Kellen Mond more than anything else and I've seen enough.
Hall may not win many of the remaining games, but he is the one QB with a possible future with this team. I'm willing to ride with him.
