I was at the game and they didnโt show a lot of replays on the giant video scoreboard. On the Broncos final game-winning dink-n-dunk drive, there was a play along the sideline where the receiver apparently fumbled and the Vikings recovered. But, the Broncos kept possession. I guess the ball or player was out of bounds. What happened, and how close was it to being a turnover? Thanks.

The ball carrier lost possession tackled to the ground, the ball ended up kind of under Ivan Pace Jr as he was moving towards the boundry. It was kind of like a tip drill - Pace didn't recognize it was a fumble until the ball flashed. He went to get his arms together to grab the ball but he nudged it out before falling on it.
How was the game? Looked like the rain started coming down as the players were walking off?

Pace made a hell of a play. He made the tackle while punching the ball out. Then Pace recovered but the ball was already out of bounds and Pace's body was as well by then. Replay showed it was a clear fumble well before ball carriers knee was down.
Luck of the bounce. If that ball hits and spins different we would all be talking about it as the play of the game instead of Sutton's catch.
You can't control bounces. Hell of a play by Pace.

I'll add that it was about 6 to 8 inches out of bounds when he finally got control of it.

Pace was so close to recovering the ball. He reached to grab it and hit the ball with his elbow, pushing it out of bounds. Had his elbow not hit the ball, he would have recovered it. Game of inches as they say.
