Sonny Gray finished in a clear second place in AL Cy Young Award voting to unanimous winner Gerrit Cole.

Gray came in second place for the Cy Young despite having an 8-8 record on a first place team. But, his ERA was 2.79. He got crappy run support in many games. Probably should have been 16-4.
Meanwhile, Cole was 15-4 with a 2.63 ERA.
